Unfortunately, the fifth-column Brook calls out on his latest video are patriotic Objectivists who don't hate President Trump. More on this later, after the context is set.

In the last decade, or longer, the Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) has veered sharply to the political and cultural left. This sad reality has been documented on this blog and elsewhere. During this period these Obleftivists have sought moral sanction and social acceptance from the enemies of the American people (academia, Soviet Valley, globalist corporations, the media).

I am going to assume that most readers of this blog have some knowledge on the saga of Tommy Robinson. He was one of the founders of the English Defense League (EDL) in 2009.

The Fountainhead is my favorite Ayn Rand novel. The book includes one of the "best" villains in literature, Ellsworth Toohey. He is completely self-aware of his motives for destroying the good for being the good. He is a remarkable foil for the book's many heroes and near heroes. As self-conscious evil, Rand was able to allow Toohey to articulate the motives and methods of the value destroying altruist. The following comments on an aspect of this point will contain spoilers. If you haven't already read The Fountainhead, get yourself to the nearest bookstore.

Harry Binswanger is one of Obleftivism's leading gurus. He has many NPC followers who parrot his every word and thought. He is also an extreme rationalist as are most of ARI's principal thought leaders. Binswanger is most notorious in patriotic Objectivist circles for his extremely bizarre views on immigration such as this classic from 2014: "After a phase-in period, entry into the U.S. would be unrestricted, unregulated, and unscreened, exactly as is entry into Connecticut from New York."

Hayashi is being presented as a "New Intellectual" by leading Obleftivists.

Remember when ARI used to defend Columbus? Not anymore. They're too busy virtue signalling to the left and hating President Trump.

In this book, Ian Fletcher provides an excellent critique of the pre-Trump "free trade" policies of the United States. His argument is backed up by copious amounts of statistics, real world examples and historical data. Happily, his writing style is accessible to the interested citizen who is not an economics geek living on some Platonic plateau.

Yoram Hazony makes the case that anti-nationalism is objectively anti-Semitism. He is the president of the Jerusalem based Herzl Institute. He makes clear in this book that Zionism is Jewish nationalism, which he completely supports.

He demonstrates much more in this masterful work that needs the widest possible dissemination. The Virtue of Nationalism's thesis is much broader than the nature of the Jewish State. It's an in-depth look at the theory, nature and history of the national state and why it's the best form of political order known to man. The author's conceptual framework begins by making the vital distinction between forms of government and forms of polities:

Elan Journo is a fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) and its resident foreign policy "expert." Last month Journo had a book published, What Justice Demands: America and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. I haven't read it yet. Honestly, it will probably be some time before I bother.

I was reading Douglas Murray's important book The Strange Death of Europe last week when Tommy Robinson was arrested for speaking truth to corrupt power. The book thoroughly documents what Robinson's persecution illustrates, that the death of Europe is the result of a murder-suicide pact. Murray's book focuses on the mass migration of Moslems into Europe in the post-war era and the results of this self-destructive policy.

The British government's vicious repression of Tommy Robinson and those associated with the British Defence League is particularly appalling.

I've just finished listening to a twenty-five minute interview of the Ayn Rand Institute's Board Chairman Yaron Brook. The interview was conducted by an Englishman named Thor Holt. I have never heard of Holt, but he does a good job given the limited time available.

Herbert Asbury published his popular history The Gangs of New York: An Informal History of the Underworld in 1928. It is one of four books that Asbury wrote on the criminal elements in different American cities. The other three deal with gangs in Chicago, New Orleans and San Francisco.The book is inaccurate in places. However, it is based on a substantial amount of primary documents from both periodicals and memoirs.

Kenneth Clark (1903-1983) was an eminent, British art historian and museum curator. His most well-known work is the landmark documentary series Civilisation that was aired on the BBC in 1969. He sub-titled the documentary - and the companion book that followed - as "A Personal View." His concentration is on the visual arts that was his forte. He also emphasizes the deep connection between art and religion during most the time-frame covered in the book and documentary.

The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) recently announced that Tal Tsfany will be replacing Jim Brown as CEO on June 29, 2018. Apparently, Brown was just an "interim" CEO, although that was news to everyone.

Yaron Brook is the Ayn Rand Institute's chairman of the board. Although no longer ARI's CEO, he is still very much its public face. He seems to be putting most of his effort into his "radio" show.

ARI announces that Jim Brown is being replaced by yet another anti-American Israeli as CEO.

Interesting news, Yawon Bwook has moved to Puerto Rico. Apparently, his new tax haven is on the upper floor of a condo. Also, I've heard that he's keeping his gated fortress in California.

Ayn Rand wrote an insightful series of articles on the 1972 presidential election and its result. These articles were published in her periodical The Ayn Rand Letter. In order of publication, these articles are "The Dead End," "A Preview," "A Nation's Unity" and "The American Spirit." To my knowledge, none of these articles have been anthologized in the several posthumously published collections of Rand's articles.
