In advance of The Atlas Society's celebration of the 50th anniversary of the publication of Atlas Shrugged, the Washington Times ran a major story that discussed Ayn Rand's great achievement, the book's influence, and the forthcoming movie.

We've just received word that the producers and director of the Atlas Shrugged movie will be joining us at our October 6, 2007 50th anniversary celebration of the publication of Ayn Rand's epic novel.

The New Individualist has won one of Folio magazine's prestigious Editorial ("Eddie") Awards. Our magazine had been named one of the three finalists in the category of "Best Single Article" in an association or nonprofit publication issued six or more times per year.

On September 15 the New York Times featured a major, generally favorable piece on "Ayn Rand's Literature of Capitalism" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the publication of Atlas Shrugged.

Atlas Shrugged Movie & Conference Update

As reported in Variety magazine, we can confirm that Lionsgate studio has tapped Vadim Perelman to direct the movie version of Ayn Rand's epic novel, Atlas Shrugged, which will star Angelina Jolie as Dagny Taggart.
