Patriotism and Collectivism.

It appears that objectivists approve of patriotism but disapprove of collectivism.

What distinguishes patriotism from collectivism?

The Right To Abort vs The Right To Exist.

In another thread the term "abortion rights" was used. Abortion is a big topic so I am starting this thread rather than hi-jacking the other.

I'm not good at focusing on more than one thing so I am going to ignore solopassion for a while. I am going to get on with achieving my goals (world domination, cleaning the dishes, etc).

I have learnt some stuff here and I will check in from time to time and might contribute if I see some outrageous error not being challenged.

Defining Objectivism

Objective - To define the "hierarchy of knowledge" that objectivists have and identify assumptions and gaps (if any) in the process. It would be good to get to the stage where everything prior to, and the basis for, ethics is defined.

Objectivism confusionism

reed's picture
Submitted by reed on Mon, 2007-05-21 05:43.

While the search for information regarding libertarianism has been easy and provided many concise facts the search for information on objectivism has only yielded information that is verbose, statements of the obvious, straw man arguments, meaningless rants, subtle error and disagreements.

Christian Libertarian?

I did the World's Smallest Political Quiz and it called me a libertarian, I am insulted, I have morals.

Not only did it call me a libertarian (shudder) but it gave me a score of 100% (personal and economic) libertarian.

A crooked trail as all calves do.

I heard about this site from Lindsay on the radio and have checked it out occasionally over a few months. It was the reasoning in the Evolution or Creationism discussion that motivated me to join.
