Evidently, Ayn Rand's "We The Living" was shot as a film in Italy around WWII.

The film was buried once authorities understood that it was not a mere anti-Russia propaganda piece.

According to 2008 Federal government projections, a looming Medicare shortage is seven times the size of the one that Social Security faces and more than four times the entire federal debt.

Despite US Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner's statements that we have reached the bottom of the recession, there is compelling evidence which suggests that we are only getting warmed up for the real crash.

Without getting into too much detail, there are some persuasive bits of evidence which suggest that financially, America is in for it, and it is going to continue to get worse.

I just read a recent issue of the news magazines Time and Newsweek.

Reuters reports "The Obama administration on Tuesday mounted a full-scale push for government authority to shut down troubled institutions like insurer AIG to avoid the need for future bailouts."

Protestations to the contrary, we are not all John Galt. Not even everyone on the SOLO web site.

In fact, most of us are lucky to be Eddie Willers, or aspire to Eddie Willers status.

I just caught the 1970's documentary "Harlan County, USA" on the Independent Film Channel and would recommend it to anyone. It is an eye-opening watch in so many ways.

I think it is important not to allow the hi-jacking of concepts.

I have seen a few folks apparently misunderstand what Ayn Rand meant by the term "concrete-bound mentalities."

Any government program costs more taxpayer money.
