SOLO-International Op-Ed: Dollars for Despots

Philip Duck
January 20, 2010

Yet another hopeless talkfest kicks off today as officials from the morally bankrupt United Nations meet the wholly corrupt ministers and bureaucrats of 15 Asian and Pacific Island states tagged, ‘Least-developed countries.’ (LDCs)

Intro to 'Total Passion'

Lindsay Perigo's picture
Submitted by Lindsay Perigo on Sat, 2014-06-14 23:05

Kyrel Zantonavitch's new review on Amazon of my book, 'Total Passion for the Total Height,' prompted me to start re-reading the thing myself. As I made my way through the Introduction I became quite exercised by the trenchant accuracy of my own observations, and motivated to lift myself from the pessimistic funk induced by the horrors of which I write. It occurred to me that I'd never published that Introduction here. Here it is (oh, and of course, buy the book if you want more!):

Life on the Level

Lindsay Perigo's picture
Submitted by Lindsay Perigo on Sun, 2019-01-13 07:51

"Can we ever have life on the level?" asks Ayn Rand in her journals.

Having been an admirer of her for nearly 40 years, but also a (very naive) student of human nature, I would answer: only among the "lower" animals. You will seldom if ever find the on-the-levelness in any "human" that you see here exhibited by this dog.

His name is "Barack" for reasons that have nothing to do with me. The "mummy" referred to in this vid is my sister. At the time of this recording he was dying from spinal cancer, and each day was different. Because of mummy's work commitments, many days the burden of care was on me. As you will see, this day was a good one, but he died not long after.

Here is the innocence, the sincerity, the on-the-levelness, the no-hidden-agenda love that is impossible to find among so-called humans such as the other Barack who are, like the ARI, driven by Satan and Soros. Disgusting, cosmically evil sub-humans. When we uncover why this is so, we shall have discovered humanity's redemption.

Roberto Alagna sings O Holy Night. No prizes for guessing who inspired this then-young man to become a singer. The filming and directing are not optimal, but who cares in the face of such glorious singing?! Roberto's idol, whom he so closely resembles here, would be proud of him. And I hope this gets up the snotty noses of ghastly (is there any other kind?) Obleftivists. May 2019 see the crushing of filthy Obleftivism and the filthy Islamo-Marxism it promotes!

Brexit Won then Stymied, Thanks to Nigel Farage

Imagine Winston Churchill abdicating leadership right at the moment when the miracle of the Dunkirk evacuation was achieved…

“Right... now England, I’ve gotten our soldiers back for you, here Halifax, you man up and organise them to fight the Nazis, I’m taking a well-earned break.”

Nobody knew more than Nigel Farage how poisonous the snake pit of the EU parliament was, yet he prematurely chose the portentous moment of the Brexit referendum victory to resign his leadership of UKIP – knowing full well that the future negotiations would be, to say the least, devilishly difficult. I found this almost unbelievable at the time when he did it. I find it utterly unconscionable now that the mess has been borne out.

A Tale of Two Revolutions

Olivia's picture

By Olivia Pierson
http://www.oliviapierson.org/b...

In 1776 the American Revolution fought and overthrew the governance imposed by the British monarchy, inspiring the French Revolution on the other side of the Atlantic to throw off its own monarchy just 13 years later.

Yet the French Revolution was an epic failure which brought about the unprecedented butchery of many, including France’s greatest Enlightenment thinkers and scientists, such as Antoine Lavoisier. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... The end result was a military dictatorship and a new monarchy: an autocracy under France’s greatest general, Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. That led to a war which England and its allies won in the climactic battle of Waterloo in 1815.

The Lost, Civilised Art of Listening

Lindsay Perigo's picture
Submitted by Lindsay Perigo on Wed, 2018-11-28 09:14

I took a lesson with a speech pupil tonight. To my surprise he informed me he'd just watched my interview from 1994 on MSTV with Jose Carreras, and said it made him realise the truth of my routine observations about the inability of anyone nowadays, on or off TV, to listen.

Everyone talks over everyone else, in the most disgusting fry-quacking, attention-seeking tones imaginable. Everyone thinks his is the only opinion that counts. It's a short step from that to everyone bashing everyone else over the head. The level of primordial contempt involved in both is not distant. I would urge people to note how in the Bruno/Linzio transmissions, there is ample listening and ample talking by both of us. True conversations, without compromising our ability and right to disagree.

Here's the interview. Note how at the end, Jose himself remarks how unusual it was:

The Trump Trigger

President Trump has a highly amusing habit of triggering members of the press to the point of hysterical backlash. While running as a presidential candidate he coined the term “fake news”, which I think will be in modern parlance forever.

The point at which the mainstream media wets its diapers is always when the President touts that “fake news is the enemy of the people.”

This statement triggers the press so profoundly, from Left to Right, that they just cannot get the insult straight in their heads. Triggering has this confusing effect on human thought.

Harry Binswanger Opines Again on Immigration

Grant Jones's picture

Harry Binswanger is one of Obleftivism's leading gurus. He has many NPC followers who parrot his every word and thought. He is also an extreme rationalist as are most of ARI's principal thought leaders. Binswanger is most notorious in patriotic Objectivist circles for his extremely bizarre views on immigration such as this classic from 2014: "After a phase-in period, entry into the U.S. would be unrestricted, unregulated, and unscreened, exactly as is entry into Connecticut from New York."
