Ahh, the dulcet tones of CALIFORNIAN NEO-NAZI TEENIE-BOPPER POP-MUSIC SINGING-SISTERS...[Andrew Falloon]

That's right! These are the sounds of 'Prussian Blue'. Their music pays tributes to the likes of German dictator Adolf Hitler and his henchmen and the superiority and purity of the white race..

Adolf Hitler, recall, seized supreme power over Germany in the thirties by using these arguments. The German democratic republic was weak, there was an economic crisis. Moderate political parties lost votes to the extreme left and extreme right as desperate citizens demanded radical change. Hitler gave Germany a police state, he gave them Joeseph Goebbels and the Ministry of Propaganda and People's Enlightenment, which controlled all radio, newspapers, films- burning those books critical of, or unapproved of by, Nazism in spectacular public ceremonies. Hitler gave Germany Heinrich Himmler, his SS and Gestapo secret police, that terrorised those who could threaten the regime and murdered, imprisoned, and tortured those who would.
The Californian twins sing songs of praise for the masterminds of these acts.

The Nazis held mass stadium rallies filled with the pageantry of hundreds of serachlights, flags, uniforms, marching boots and hate-charged speeches. The Nazis elevated racism to a deeply spiritual and hypnotic level. It bent a nation to one Fuehrer's will. Germans and their youth had to think, speak, consume, produce, like, dislike, participate and live how their government ordered them to. Obey and keep your head down, or uniforms would knock on your door. All teachers in universities and schools had to swear an oath of loyalty to Hitler, dissenting academics were purged. Liberty was gone, Hitler was everywhere- there was nobody else left to appeal to. And soon Germans would be at war, dependent on cooperating with Hitler's regime without any alternative.

This is part of what the New Zealand Be Free show is about. We've been taught, by Kiwi libertarians who came before us, to recognise the signs around us of escalating statism. The Nazi's could have been blocked at dozens of turns in their rise to power. But instead the distracted German population made concession after concession, putting their own powers of personal freedom into the hands of their government. But we've learnt. We know better, right?

We bloody better know! And we better act against it in our own society wherever we see personal liberty being supplanted by government control. If this evil ever rises again, in the guise of racism or otherwise, I will consider it a personal failure.
So what do you say to a pair of 13yo girls seduced by Adolf's dead hand? Given that they're Californian teens in this instance perhaps a history lesson and some racial un-hypnotising is in order. However, if they were Illinois Nazis there is one swift action that springs to mind....

Gangs

Rick Giles's picture

If you're a lunatic, take Kelly Elmore's advice. (:

Yah, I was hanging out with Duncan.B last night and talking about South Africa. And I was thinking that in the absence of the rule of law it makes perfect sense to set up your own rival gang for security and protection.
As to which kind of gang you set up, what cult or philosophy speaks to you, I guess it depends on what you love and what you fear.

Perhaps it's the same with all tribalism. There are rich mixtures of hoodoo gurus to choose from- and more new ones on a daily basis.

Absence of the rule of law; absence of the rule of reason.

If you are going to be a raving lunatic, at least you could be one who can sing. Those girls stink!

I live in northern California, and it's true, there are a ton of these little twits running amock!

We have only one gang in town-a bunch of backwards, white-supremacist, thugs who beat up minorities and trash people's cars. No one realizes how many neo-nazis we have running around, it's rampant! They've organized demonstration days where they all come to school sporting their swastikas.

It's not a joke, nazism is on the rise and it scares the crap out of me. Personally, I think it's in response to the gang culture we're developing. California, home to East LA-can get pretty scary after dark. I think we're seeing a rise in neo-nazism because of the increasing number of black youths getting sucked into gangsterism. (Not too say that there aren't just as many white kids out there thinkin' they thugs.)
Kids look at the stereotype black gangster out there, and they see a monster. They're turning to nazism, in my opinion, out of fear and stupidity.

Very much so

Couldn't agree more with you there, Canterbury.
The fair may look foul and the foul may look fair. And good and evil aren't confined to celebrity circles but are in all of us up and down the food chain.

This message is illustrated best, that I know, in one of the Babylon5 episodes, 'Intersections in Real Time.' It's very much a remake of the torture scene from 1984 meets 'The Prisioner.' The inquisitor is "just doing my job" and eating his cornbeef sandwitches from his lunch box that his wife makes him each week day. After lunch it's back to inflicting pain. It's chilling but all too realistic.

"And a child shall lead them..."

You get these Hitler-loving, white supremacists all over. It's easy to spot them for who they are.

But there's something much more sinister out there. Nice, hard-working, middle class types who don't think Hitler did a bad job, oh... except for a few little atrocities, but, you know, he was generally on the right track.

Trust me, they're out there. Middle-aged. Educated. Normal jobs. No swastika tattoos. No crazy political affiliations. Just the folks next door. But *so* many of them believe that the Nazis only erred in their excesses. I've actually had a very nice lady say to my face that: it's a shame about the Jews; it would have been so much better if the Nazis could have separated the good ones from the bad so they didn't all get lumped in together.

This stuff ain't new, just dressed-up prettier.
