Internet DatingSubmitted by KingRandor82 on Sun, 2006-11-26 07:34.
A lot of people seem to complain about how "dangerous" internet dating is, saying "you don't really know who you're talking to" or "you don't really know what the person is like in real life, on these things". They seem, however, to have no problem championing just meeting people in real life. While that's fine eventually, I still see no problem with dating via the internet. I actually have an interesting thought regarding internet dating and the idea that "you don't really know what that person is like when you talk to him/her online"- well, when John Wayne Gacy came over to kids' parties as a clown, did he make it public to them that he'd just murdered some people the night before? The first time you meet ANYBODY you're not gonna find out everything about them- no matter WHERE you meet them. Many times, people will even keep stuff from you for a really long time. Any thoughts on this?
