Whither (Wither?) Europe?

A German author gives his opinion about the fate of Europe.
The Rape of Europe

His advice? Move to Australia or New Zealand.

His reasons? Among others is this quote from a woman he debated: "[I]t is sometimes better to let yourself be raped than to risk serious injuries while resisting."

And you thought the U.S. had troubles.

He quotes another author as saying: “I am not a warrior,” he says, “but who is? I have never learned to fight for my freedom. I was only good at enjoying it.”

Americans, take heed.

[Note: Regrettably, the rest of the article is religious nonsense.]

Breakfasting Slander

I have never cut through a waffle in my life. The staff wouldn't even know how to make one.

A fright at the opera: champions of Mozart brave cultural divide

And what do cowardly dickheads like Broder do when they read news stories of resistance to censorship like this one? Piss themselves and run away?

"The West, it seemed, was capitulating before Islam, surrendering Mozart, one of the defining symbols of European culture, on his 250th birthday. “The decision to cancel was insane, laughable and unacceptable,” Wolfgang Schäuble, the Interior Minister, said. Angela Merkel, the Chancellor, agreed. The Cabinet, which is dominated by Wagnerians, became fans of Mozart, an Austrian, overnight...

The King rails against the injustice in an epilogue, and stumbles on stage with a bag containing the heads of Poseidon, Jesus, Buddha and Muhammad...

In the final critical moment the King of Crete, blood-drenched, calls out to the audience: “The Gods are dead!” However, the tenor Raúl Giménez, who appeared to be wearing a bulletproof vest, last night substituted the words for a cackling laugh."

The thing I like about Fraser

TimV's picture

is how he cuts through the waffle and focuses on the essentials!

A little off subject, but

A little off subject, but apparently there is an Objectivist club in the United Kingdom. http://www.ukoa.org/. Anyone here from the UK familiar with them?

All in Perspective

Someone with a family of young ones who leaves for countries where Patum Peperium and first flush Darjeeling are not available may not be a cowardly dickhead, but they are certainly showing questionable taste.

Someone with a family of young ones

Richard Wiig's picture

seeing the deteriorating scene around them, and then seeking a better life for their kids and so pursuing that value, is a cowardly dickhead? Why do you assume only the worst? Don't be so pessimistic, or prejudiced and Let them prove their worth once they get here.

Conversion

"I doubt Linz or Peter would take any comfort from their presence."

Yeah, probably. But I hear Aussies and Kiwis have a lot of practice at taking the castoffs from other countries and making them into real men. Smiling

Not that Islamic fundamentalism...

Marcus's picture

...isn't a threat in Europe. Of course it is.

But what use would NZers and Australians have for the sort of cowardly dickheads that run away from an emergent threat to their freedom?

I doubt Linz or Peter would take any comfort from their presence.

Agree

Jeff Perren's picture

"So maybe you should be also worried about the US foreign policy regarding the Islamification of Europe, no?"

Indeed, I am. I'm also appalled at what is happening in parts of the U.S. as well. That Keith Ellison could get elected in times such as these is a very grave concern.

CAIR is as big a threat as any I know of in Europe.

In any case, I wasn't trying to suggest I agreed with the article author's advice.

Einstein was a bit different...

Marcus's picture

...because Hitler had already come to power and Einstein (being Jewish) was a target.

If that happens regarding Islam, yes, then fleeing would be sensible given that most Westerners are going to be targets of such a regime.

Do we have anything close to an Islamic government instituting Sharia law in Europe? No.

Is Turkey (a secular state with a Muslim population) not having troubles being admitted into the EU because of its inconsistent defence of freedom of speech? Yes.

Which country has pushed hard for the admission of Turkey into the EU?
None other than the US, I believe!!!

So maybe you should be also worried about the US foreign policy regarding the Islamification of Europe, no?

Reconsider

Jeff Perren's picture

Marcus,

You may rightly object to the author's adivce, but are you suggesting he is exaggerating the impact of Islam and/or Muslim immigration on Europe?

And, I trust you are not putting people like Einstein, and others who fled Nazi Germany into the 'spineless category'...

Rape of Europe!!! Nonsense!!!

Marcus's picture

This article should be put in the same category as those written by Global Warming scaremongers.

If Broder suggests fleeing Europe as the solution to Islam, then he fits in well with a tradition of spineless Germans that pissed themselves when they saw Hitler coming and instead left him for the UK to sort out.

The (w)holy warriors are coming ...

VSD's picture

they come from the east and they come from the west
they come from the past and they doom our future
and their only power has and always will be:

That they can make one individual afraid

they live in unity and serve the whole as their survival
they live in numbers and breeding masses makes them strong
and their only fear has and always will be:

That one individual will stand alone

they consume individuals until there are no more masses left
they feast on violence and fear until they destroy each other

And the simple answer has and always will be:
One individual - standing alone - free of fear ...

Whither "wither"?

Lindsay Perigo's picture

I figured if it were deliberate it was too subtle and most folk would think you'd simply mis-spelled the word (that is, those few who realised it would normally be "whither"). Smiling

Fixed the "are."

Play on words

Jeff Perren's picture

I gather whoever stickied the post wasn't too sure about my play on words. Fair enough; it was a little too subtle, perhaps. (Although, I did just notice there's a grammatical error in 'among others are...' But, anytime you edit a stickied post, it get's unstickied. So...)

Hmmm

Richard Wiig's picture

"so we'll get all the gutless European appeasers coming to our shores. Just what we don't need."

And perhaps the best of Europe too? Also, any of those who may lean towards the appeasing side, or at least on the more-tolerant-than-they-should-have-been side, will arrive on your shores a little wiser than they were on the shores they left.

Wonderful...

so we'll get all the gutless European appeasers coming to our shores. Just what we don't need. Sad
