Food Philosophy Videocast #1Submitted by Prima Donna on Thu, 2007-05-10 14:51.
The Culinary Podcast Network has gone to video! If you are out in San Francisco, or traveling there, and most importantly, if you are a garlic lover, this is the restaurant for you. Check out the first Food Philosophy Videocast from the Stinking Rose restaurant in San Francisco's Little Italy. I tried to embed the YouTube video, but it didn't work. [Embedded by Wm]

Ick!
One of my favorite things as a kid was potato chips and vanilla ice cream. The crunch and earthy saltiness of the chips goes perfectly with cool, silky ice cream. Try it sometime. You use the bigger chips to scoop it all up. Also, potato chip sandwiches with mustard pickles. No, I'm not pregnant.
Of course you're not. Who'd want to dip his sausage into that lot?

It's not as weird as it sounds. I have a friend who worked for a large ice cream company and he went on a scouting trip to Japan. Over there they have some unusual (to us) ice cream flavors, including seaweed, wasabi and soy.

Good thing I've - finally - got broadband. Will check this out tonight, once I've finished with the weeks administrivia (moving country is a right PITA in terms of paperwork, especially if you want to import prohibited weapons).

Merci buckets.
Thanks Julian. Do make it a point to eat there when you go back -- the gorgonzola ravioli are well worth the trip, as is the bagna calda.
Ross, you devilish thing. I'll keep that in mind...
And Linz, my tasty partner *is* in fact on the menu. For the record, the garlic ice cream was delicious, as it was made with roasted garlic, which is of course quite sweet. I'm not normally a fan of ice cream, but that was tasty. Believe me, I wouldn't be able to fake it if I didn't like it -- and that applies to all things.

Garlic *Icecream*?
Yikes! Was it really as nice as you said?
Tasty-looking partner there, Dildo. Is he on the menu?
Linz
PS—Of course, not as tasy as you [Linz, realising he may just have put his life in jeopardy].
Well done, Jen
Now, wearing that cute little trench coat & dark glasses, you look like a spy... a French spy. So, Mademoiselle, if you ever need help going undercover...
Nice video Jennifer! Though
Nice video Jennifer!
Though I felt really sorry for the poor Dutch family being harassed by your partner in crime.
I can't believe I passed up on going to The Stinking Rose when I visited San Francisco. D'oh. Oh well, any excuse to go back.
Grazie!
Thanks William!
Jenn, it is not to be missed!!

I took the liberty of embeding it for you. Next time I'm in the area I will pay a visit and try that ice cream.

Islam insofar as it is directed by governments, and as a measure enforced from above by any government, is to be done away with.
Awesome!
I have always wanted to go to the Stinking Rose! A friend of mine has been many times (and will be going this weekend as a matter of fact) and she just raves about it. Congrats on the videocast!
