I'm considering placing a bet against, seeing as he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. If I lose, I still win, right? But a $67 payout in '08 on $1K that I could just put in stocks? But never mind all that. If you're bored with all this other numbers and politics stuff, and you're not homosexual, how 'bout that Carrie Stroup, the article's reporter? A Google on her turns up these stills, from a brief scene. Ah, the classic "hottie doctor seduces hottie patient" formula. Works every time! Smile

I'd bet on the side of the 15

Since Paul won't win, it doesn't make sense to bet on the side of the 1 in hopes of a payoff of the 15. I'd bet against at 15, to get the sure payoff of the 1.

But that's a year and a half away, only a 6.7% return. A sure return, yes, but I'd do better with the dough in my bond fund at 5% per annum or 7.5% in a year and a half. And it's liquid. When I place a bet, doesn't the bookie keep my money until Nov '08?

That's right, Aaron...

15:1 = fifteen dollars return on a one dollar bet. But whichever way you look at it it would be a waste of money because he's never going to be their nominee. And if he was, we'd all lose.

How do you figure 15:1 odds

How do you figure 15:1 odds means a $67 payout on $1K? It's roughly vice-versa. If you're a betting man, too bad you missed 200:1 though.
