World's tallest residential tower opens in Melbourne![]() Submitted by Peter Cresswell on Wed, 2007-06-27 22:37
Go to the architect's website for some glorious images of the new Eureka Tower, and of Melbourne at night: Fender Katsalidis Architects.

Elliot Tower
Don't worry, I'm working on the plans as we speak.
You never did say to whom I should send the bill.
Cheers, Peter Cresswell

Yep, nice
Q1 Tower on the Gold Coast has the *technical* distinction of being the world's highest residential structure, due to it's spire. And, one of my many loves, the John Hancock Center in Chicago is still rated has having the highest residences.
But, I'm just being pedantic because I love to go on about skyscrapers. Melbourne is a lovely setting, with the river and all, for towers, and I wish it well.
Now, don't forget the planned Elliot residential tower in Auckland, named after me, by permission of course.
Thanks Peter
Beautiful building. My fave pics are #3-the sunset reflections on the topmost section and
#8-the angle of the photo and the horizontal floor breaks make it look as if the building is twisting towards the sky. But not in too light of a way. But in the correct amount of effort, if this makes any sense:-P. Eureka!
