New Kiwi Film: Man vs Tax Machine: 'We're Here To Help'Submitted by Rick Giles on Thu, 2007-07-19 15:05.
It's a story about (libertarian) businessman Dave Henderson and his epic battle with the IRD (tax department.) It also features ACT Party Leader, Rodney Hide. I blogged about this earlier in the year, pointing out (eventually) that Rodney is to be played by Michael Hurst (see images above and below.)
In other news, Trevour says that his own Mrs Louden features in the movie as Hendo's secretary. She is to be played by Emma Aubin.... Good goin' there, Loudons! (Above pic captured from http://www.nzshortfilm.com/film,3870.sm)

maybe it was best
...that I did not make it down to the South Island during my visit eleven years ago... no wonder the sheep in this movie seemed so pissed off! Save a copy of this film for me if you would, so that on my next trip I can see a kiwi movie worth watching.
In all seriousness, if films like this are being made in New Zealand then there is once again more proof you Libz & SOLOists are making more of an impact there than just about anyone else in either the English speaking world or the United States.
But..um. I come from the
But..um. I come from the South Island.
Michael Hurst looks much different after makeup have Rodney-Hided him. The shot I saw of the actor playing Hendo was a good-looking, solid, clean-cut, dark haired bloke.
Oh how the camera lies! (:
Better than looking at Ross' photo
and seeing him in the Romney
Dave Henderson ...
... looked rather similar to this handsome blonde when I first met him. I teased him about it when I interviewed him this morning.
Bro Vardo—it's only in the South Island that they shag sheep. Look at Ross' photo—you'll see the Romney in him. Bit of German Shepherd there too I think.
Bah! to your Baa!
You know I love you kiwis a fair bit more than I love my braindead "who was Thomas Jefferson again?" countrymen, but alas, look at this latest example of kiwi film making to reach my Southern California shores: Black Sheep (see seperate post with movie poster image).
I'd rather see the film you're mentioning in this post, Rick.
Baa!
I call for this thread to be moderated!
Wow this looks a lot better
Than the 'deranged sheep' movie I just saw which was also made by New Zealanders.
