'Search' working a treat!
Plenty of hits coming up now!
The only thing is... they seem to be arranged pretty randomly. Can you prioritise them from newest to oldest?
Confused
I use the blue numbers on the right -- e.g., "9 new", "70 new" -- to tell me how many posts I haven't read on a thread or if I haven't bothered to read that thread.
So, I don't understand what the red "new" and "updated" mean if they are different from that .... and they are: I've got a bunch of threads marked new or updated even though I have read the original post and all the new ones.
Search Working
I managed to figure out why the search results were so stale and have fixed the problem. Try the search out when you get a chance. It isn't very speedy (I'll look in to that) but it does give relevant and recent results for search terms lik Islam now.

More improvements
Added to the list of improvements, if you enable the rich-text editor by clicking on the button on the bottom of a text box, you can now run spell check (if you don't already use firefox for spell check). American spelling of course, but I'm sure I can be bribed to make that a preference.
Wm
Try editing your "Edit bug" post...
and watch it default to the top of the thread as a new post....
Theme issues
On my Mac things look great, but when I opened it up in Vista I see the same issues you are seeing with the theme Aaron. I think that part of the upgrade opens us up to use a new theme I will play with it a bit on the test site and see what I can get to look better.

Islam insofar as it is directed by governments, and as a measure enforced from above by any government, is to be done away with.
Edit bug
I'm not sure I understand you. I made a post on the Test forum. Can you give me the exact procedure to reproduce the bug?

Shit this bug is annoying...
William, could you please have a look at the edit function... every time you make an edit it reposts it as a brand new entry, lifting it out of sequence... thanking you in advance...
Nice additions! I really
Nice additions! I really like the 'new' status refreshing now.
Cosmetic issues I've encountered: Using Firefox 2.0, the entire 'recent posts' area appears with a white background for all rows, and no border to set apart rows. The page number links below also appear crunched together with no horizontal space at all between them. On IE 7 I see a light grey background (though no borders) behind all rows and the page numbers spaced out. Possible compatibility issue with 'odd' or 'even' class on tr, and with 'pager-list', 'pager-current' or 'pager-next active' on the page numbering? I checked page source but not into the .css. If you have anything you want me to try to get more info let me know.
It might not appear like
It might not appear like much to non-techies, but don't underestimate how tricky and time-consuming an upgrade of a customized Drupal installation can be. There was a reason Ross and I put it into the 'too-hard' basket for a long time.
Thanks for the effort that you put in William. You're great.
Cheers
Julian
Bug alert!!
Okay, so I went to edit a literal in one of my posts (Lindsay's thread about bad spelling - dope!
) and when I went to re-post the thing it came up as a brand new entry. Thinking I’d duped it I deleted it and now it’s gone forever!
So, Mr. Fixit…
4.x
Fair enough then. Good on you.
Thank you young William!
Your blood's worth bottling.
Changes
Major changes in this version include:
Wm
Islam insofar as it is directed by governments, and as a measure enforced from above by any government, is to be done away with.
What's the celebration?
Cool. So, what's been upgraded?
It is a new navigation feature and all of the forum posts and blog posts will have it on the bottom of the post
How does that help anybody?
Sell it to me, Mr Green!
Is this the big secret upgrade nobody would answer questions about? Is this what we've been waiting for before a plan for fundraising could be tabled?
Thanks again, William!!
Much better - now I go straight there, no hesitation!!

Did you like Cheltenham William?
Glad to see that you survived the British monsoon season that has replaced summer this year!
Picky Picky
Done!

Thanks, William...
Nice to see customer feedback actioned... but... why not put *Recent Posts* on the far left where it used to be...?
New navigation
The "Embedding" link you see is the link to the previous forum post in this forum. It is a new navigation feature and all of the forum posts and blog posts will have it on the bottom of the post.
I have reordered the links at the top and put the recent posts farthest to the right. We'll see how that works.

Also...
the search engine doesn't seem to be working... typed in "Islam" and didn't get any hits at all...
Well done, William...!!
Some nice new touches - especially like the *update* and *new* markers.
I'm a bit confused with the Embedding link above.... doesn't actually take us through to a place that explains how to do it.
One small quibble: I'm guessing that *Recent Posts* is the hottest button on this site... any reason for burying it third in the info bar? It appears as though you've ordered it in reverse alphabetical. Can you highlight it or move it to the outside position... or am I just being an annoying pedant?
Glenn
Yes,
it looks splendid...well done!
All credit to you Mr Green!
All credit to you Mr Green! This has been on our TODO list for too long. Thank you very much for the great job.
Cheers
