Lindsay's Radio Editorial: 16 August—Allah's Airheads #4Submitted by Julian Darby on Wed, 2007-08-15 21:47.
Audio from Lindsay's Radio Pacific Editorial: Islam Awareness Week Text: Well, knock the tea-towel off my head with a sweaty burka! Day Four of Islam Awareness Week, and Campbell Live, Saddamy at 7, is all a-splutter about Air New Zealand taking Australian soldiers to countries next to Iraq. What a hoot, watching the Saddamite spraying his spittle all over the set. No surprise there—and good on Air New Zealand, I say, making up for the NZ Government’s cowardly, treacherous stance on Iraq. More surprising, the debate about my "Death to Islamo-Fascism" article on Salient's website has taken a dramatic turn for the better. The knee-jerk, anti-American pro-tyranny apologists for Islamo-Fascism, who seem incapable of using a comma or apostrophe correctly, or a rational argument at all, are being comprehensively out-argued—not difficult—and almost outnumbered—not usual! I was gratified yet saddened by one post that said: “When Islam has had it’s own renaissance and reformation, their barbaric religion may lose its blood-lust and succumb to its more peaceful elements. But whilst they take seriously the role of Jihad, through terrorism, immigration or the womb, they are comparable to vampires, sucking the life blood of the West, whilst hating it at the same time. Read the writings of Hirsi Ali. She was exiled over them—that’s how seriously Islamics hate people speaking out against them. If you don’t believe her, read Oriana Fallaci, another outspoken exile. Thank Christ for the likes of Lindsay Perigo—the only one man enough in this complacent country to name something for what it really is, and happily take the backlash.” Gratified because it’s nice to get that sort of support, obviously; saddened because it’s almost literally true. Not quite the only one, but nearly. The country is complacent; the number of public figures with the guts to call Islam what it is can be counted on one hand missing some fingers chopped off by Islamo-Fascists. Why don’t I write similarly about Christianity, I’m asked. Well, Christianity has been significantly civilised by science and secularism. It’s a blight, but a benign blight. By and large it lives and lets live. It doesn’t have much option, given that it lacks political dominance and is unlikely ever to reacquire it. Islam—the hard-core variety that is on the rampage—is a blight and a malignancy—it says “freedom go to hell” and seeks the subjugation or destruction of the infidel worldwide. There’s one day left for local Muslims to respond to my invitation to renounce and denounce Jihad, fatwa and Sharia Law; to commit to respecting the rights of those of other faiths, or no faith, to their beliefs; to join with me and every other freedom-lover in a chorus of, “I disagree with what you say but defend to the death your right to say it.” Will they do it? Is Osama an atheist?
