Anomyous blog comments - good or bad?Submitted by Duncan Bayne on Mon, 2006-01-09 02:29.
So - I've moved my blog over here, & the first thing I've noticed is the inability of my readers (all 3 of them) to post anonymous comments on blogs only. Do people think this would be a nice feature, or are you scared that it'd be abused?

Thanks :-)
As you know, I've gone to quite some effort to improve my health & appearance - so it's nice when people notice, especially when they happen to be pretty women
As an aside - isn't it funny how people who are (rightly) vocally critical of racist regimes often characterise people as neo-NAZIs etc. *on the basis of their appearance*? I don't think they recognise the inherent contradiction.
Agreed ...
... on both the registering thing, and the passport photo. That was, errr, not one of my best. I still get stopped at airports because of that damn photo - it's what happens when you're unshaven, tired (hungover?) and angry at having been caught in the rain.
I'll see what I can do about enabling anonymous blog posting then. (FWIW, AnonymousToo is actually two of my colleagues, bored at the end of a work day &, sharing my sense of humour, wanting to antagonise me)
Actually answering the question and other bits
Personally I have no intention of ever writing a blog myself so registering for one just to comment on someone elses seems like a waste of time and just sends out more of my information for people to get hold of and start spamming me.
As for the neo-nazi look AnonymousToo should have seen your passport photo where you actually managed to look like a terrorist holding a AK47 with just the headshot.
Watch out Sturm
Duncan I think you look hot. It never occurred to me that you might be taken for a racist, fascist, neo nazi. You look more like Rob Thomas to me.
Duncan, has anyone commented
Duncan, has anyone commented on how well suited you would have been to the lead role in "Romper Stomper"! Failing that one of the white fascist bully boys in "Mississippi Burning". Seriously though, If you are going to be taken seriously as a liberal in the original sense you need to rethink your haircut and your attire. Being mistaken for a blackshirt neo nazi will make people think your one of Brash's religious hangers on.
P.S. Sunglasses area a form of emotional dishonesty!
It seems like it might be a
It seems like it might be a good idea but I always thought one of the key points of SOLO was letting it all hang out. No pseudonyms say what you mean, mean what you say and stand by every word of it.
