Attn: Auckland SOLOists - BBQ Friday at Ken'sSubmitted by Andrew Bates on Mon, 2006-01-09 08:12.
Tim Sturm is in Auckland but flying to the UK on Saturday. I leave for Sydney on Monday. Lindsay Perigo is in Auckland. To mark this, there’s a bash this Friday evening at Ken Riddle’s place, 45a View Road, Mt Eden. Bring a plate, but not bloody packets of chips (by request of Carol Potts).

Names?!
Ha!
No fair!
You damn kiwi's get all the good rational thinkers! And to top it off, you have people show up to events.
That's it, I'm working on my Linz impression right now so I can get a radio show and maybe get people out to meetings.
Idoni
Don't expect articles with all of my 'f's changed to 'ph's though.
Photos anyone?
Does anyone present at the SOLO NZ get-together have photos to share? Then LEAVE THEM IN YOUR CAMERA! Alternatively, I would give money for the negatives.

Does anyone present at the SOLO NZ get-together have photos to share? If so, please email them to me at dhbayne@ihug.co.nz so I can put together a montage to post.
Back in UK
Nothing like a hangover to kick off a 24 hour flight. It was great to catch up with PC, Carol, Kermode and everyone again and to meet people like Ashley, Duncan and the lovely Colleen whom I hadn't met before. Thanks Duncan and Ken for organising and hosting the evening.
As for the great rumour-mongerer Linz, no one should believe a word of it! (Although ... Bates, did you ever get the names of those girls on Friday night?)
Sturm
Comings & goings
An appropriately uproarious inaugural for SOLONZ, further enlivened by the presence of my old but eternally youthful friend Colleen ("Slag") whom I hope to assign a SOLO staff role to shortly. She will be an energetic addition to the team, as well as an endless diversion for Thrusters. As for my old but eternally youthful friend Timmy - he who was declined drinks service at a SOLOC 4 outing in California because he looked underage (at thirty-something)- it was a delight to see him, to see the progress he's made with Total Passion for the Total Height & to know he found plenty of high passion while here. (I understand his flight was delayed while he received treatment for Repetition Strain Injury.)
Duncan will have his work cut out melding this bunch of rambunctious kiwis into a cohesive fighting force!
Linz
Thanks to all those who came
I had a great time and I think Sturm and Linz did too though I suspect Linz would have hated my taking Sturm off to town when I did. That said, I think Sturm was glad for it.
Thanks also to Ken for hosting us.
Reminder!
I am moving to Sydney on Monday, Sturm is going back to the UK tomorrow and Linz is up here in Auckland. To celebrate, there will be a BBQ this Friday evening at Ken's place (45a View Road, Mt Eden, opposite Horoeka Ave).
BYO and a decent plate, not just bloody packets of chips (by request, Carol Potts).

This has also been posted to the front page here. I really hope to see as many NZ-based SOLOists there as can make it.
