Even though I very much enjoy the posts by the Solo guests, they take place in the house of Lindsay Perigo which has now repeatedly proven to be bully of the worst kind. Not being true to yourself has been a reason for Lindsay to disconnect Solo members from their peers yet it is Lindsay himself who firmly believes that reason free personal abuse equates passion. I believe that is called emotional ranting and bullying. I believe his behaviour is unacceptable and in fact I think it is Lindsay who should be told he is no longer welcome on this site. Yet it is his site so there is only one cause of action. I will have to leave and deny myself the great articles and insights of the rational Solo members. The best way to defuse a bully is by stopping to give him any attention. As good or worthless as my posts are, I have removed them from this site as I no longer wish to contribute to the bully's powers. It is not the message but the way the message is delivered that is the problem, only very thick skinned people can survive the abuse that goes around on this site. Abuse which I think is counter productive to the aim and credo of Solo Passion.

Thanks guys, just the
Thanks guys, just the feedback I need. I publish a revised version tomorrow.
One
suggestion which did occur to me...
What about community newspapers?
Their circulation is huge, the advertising costs much lower and a surprisingly large percentage of people read them (or at least glance at the front page).
So, my view would be to have the strip along the bottom of the front page..with a 'provocative' slogan and website details, (for people to go to in their own time, with more detailed information).
Elijah is right
There is a lot of writing for a medium that most people skim read. Perhaps shorter with a website advertised where they can go and get more information? There is just a lot of information before you get to the Act Now point.
Elijah...
You may have a point but I would think the anti warming is so un common that most people's attention would be caught by the headline. All of this information will be new to a lot of people I think we can count on sizable number of readers going through the whole thing.
The
advertising message seems a bit 'wordy'.
Is it possible to edit it down to a couple of salient bullet points?
Nearly every single domain name in NZ is still free :-)
I think your suggestions are all good.
Even carbontax.org.nz is still available.
Perhaps if you take it you can piss off the NZ Government's future plans?
Domain name suggestions
Thanks Marcus, the advert is not mine but someone elses. I changed the title but I am looking to make the text more current towards the NZ Carbon tax proposals but I do think that the fact that we are not committed to Kyoto is important.
Like KillTheBill.org.nz (Go there if you have not already)
I think this advert can use a site as well that can easily be referred to in Talkback programs and so on.
What super short domain name do you suggest (check availability here )
I like:
CO2nned.org.nz (Will cause confusion to spell)
conned.org.nz (Lacks reference to the subject)
hoax.org.nz (Can be used in the future again but sounds conspiracy theory like)
mmmm. CarbonHoax.org.nz maybe?
One thing is that the Kyoto agreement...
...is considered out-of-date amongst the Green politicos - and everyone knows it was a complete political con and hasn't resulted in any CO2 reductions. The NZ govt was probably the only signatory who honestly took the thing seriously and didn't realise it was merely a PR exersize.
It expires in 2012 and is going to be replaced by something else by 2008. The US is currently trying to replace it with it's own version - but being the US it wants all the targets to be voluntary and to encourage the development of cleaner technology. That won’t fly with all the current left-wing politicos who dislike industry and capitalism in general.
Therefore the new treaty to replace Kyoto is likely to be the UN one in Bali this December.
The 2008 Bali agreement! Yuck!
So your original idea to oppose any signing up to carbon taxes or green taxes in general is probably the better one.
Great!
Good work, I'm not a position to pledge any money bu I applaud your initiative!
