It turns out that Maia only knows some of those arrested, rather than being one of those in the slammer herself. She writes:

I've just learned that the person in Auckland who had been granted bail had had it revoked. I want them to let my friends go.

Now, I'm pretty sure that she's referring to this guy, who on the basis of evidence to hands looks like a nasty piece of work indeed:

The Crown said police had intercepted communications in which statements like the following had been uttered:

* "I'm training up to be a vicious, dangerous commando";

* "White men are going to die in this country";

* "I'm at war. I'm declaring war on this country very soon".

It described Lockett as someone who was an active participant in a group that had the potential to make a violent impact on New Zealand society.

It's somewhat ironic that someone who is a self-described feminist - and who got her knickers in a bunch over my posts to her blog that suggested women arm themselves as a protection against stranger rape - should support a crowd of racist terrorists. Ironic, but not surprising. The more people pay attention to this, & understand the real nature of the supposedly inclusive, pacifistic organisations involved, the better.

does not surprise me in the least, Duncan.

I am never surprised at the hypocrisy, double standards, lies, name calling that people engage in on a daily basis...particularly those supposedly advocating 'Freedom'...(at least the Socialists are consistent)

You should post a message asking her for the Top 10 reasons why her 'friends' should be released Sticking out tongue
