My wife went solo today ...Submitted by Duncan Bayne on Mon, 2007-10-22 10:19.
... possibly the biggest single step on her way to becoming a professional helicopter pilot. She flew three circuits of Moorabbin airport in a Robinson R22, and reports being pleasantly surprised by the performance of the helicopter with only one person in it

Wow great skills
Try to rub your left nipple in a 4/4 beat up and down while you rub your right nipple sideways in 3/4 beat. Do this while humming the national anthem and tapping out bumble bee rhapsody with your feet of course meanwhile you are reading and understanding a Solo passion post.
That is how hard helicopter flying is! Congrats Ande!
Carbon Tax is a hoax. Read more at carbonhoax.org.nz and spread the word.
Tethered to a flying machine
Wow..that quite some achievement. Flying has also been one of my distant fantasies since childhood, and I've started training on flying gyrocopters of late.
I've discovered a site by a true Mexican Rocketman who is busy developing a rocket powered take-off mechanism for a new kind of gyrocopter capable of vertical takeoff...by using hydrogen peroxide tip jets on the rotor.
Check out his site where he offers a jet belt, fuel distiller and training for 250K.
He's also on the verge of completing the development of a backpack rocket powered helicopter
This guy is a classic and reminds me of the character played by Anthony Hopkins in "The worlds fastest Indian"
Brilliant stuff ...just give it a break before attempting to get "mile high club" status on your first few flights with your wife.

I admit that reason is a small and feeble flame, a flickering torch by stumblers carried in the starless night, -- blown and flared by passion's storm, -- and yet, it is the only light. Extinguish that, and nought remains.- - Robert Green Ingersoll
Just as soon as she's
Just as soon as she's legally able to carry passengers, hell yes
I tried my hand at flying helis a while back but found them overwhelming when compared with fixed-wing aircraft, but I'm more than happy to be flown around in one

Cool Duncan...
You sound really proud! Will you be willing to fill the other seat soon?
