Quote of the Day: Achievers vs AppeasersSubmitted by Lindsay Perigo on Tue, 2007-10-30 03:52.
If you just set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing. Margaret Thatcher

Great Collection
May I request a reprise of all the Atlas Month Quotes of the Day?
I
know exactly what you mean, Lindsay.
I remember when I was in Dunedin in the the run up to the last Election.
I socialised with various people who were self described "right wing free marketeers".
But when talk of the General Election cropped up it got rather interesting....these people mentioned support and total agreement with ACT ...(not being libertarians as they are the 'Right Wing Authoritarian' types who cannot get their head around the idea of a party not wanting to actually govern the Nation)...but all took the view that "oh, we had better vote Labour because if we vote ACT it will make us look like right wing a***holes"
Seriously! these people were too gutless to stand by their principles!
Just astounding!
This sort of deceitful, pathetic appeasement is, I believe, widespread in New Zealand and a sad reflection.
Hat Tip to Peter for mentioning the 'Tories' on his weblog today, who were the ultimate in this sort of thing.
Unreal...
A POLITICIAN said that?!
