October SummarySubmitted by Mitch on Sun, 2007-11-04 02:47.
Another month gone. STILL no global warming! I’m sitting here in Wellington freezing my butt off! It’s been an eventful October, with a fantastic SOLO function (nearly resulting in Linz’s premature death), food poisoning (nearly resulting in Glenn Jameson’s premature death), a jailing (possibly resulting in Rick Giles’ premature death), a premature Rugby World Cup exit (nearly resulting in the premature deaths of 30 All Blacks and 172 support staff), and many more successfully offended Muslims, Christians, Politicians, Journalists, and PC lefties. YAY! ‘Premature’ count: 5
Lance Davey has again been the bane of our politicians' and media’s inboxes, with 16 out of a whopping total of 28 Press Releases and Op-Ed’s for October. That’s nearly one per day! Again I say, and will continue to say, don’t be afraid to write a Press Release!!!
As mentioned, the SOLO function was a great success, as proven by nearly everyone who turned up to breakfast the next morning being hung-over. Out of the ashes of this function, another has been proposed. Mr Hilton Holder, our South African-Australian who resides on the Gold Coast of Australia, has kindly offered up his mansion as accommodation for the proposed SOLOC 5. The proposed date for this conference is over ANZAC weekend on the 25-26-27th of April 2008. This is obviously a convenient weekend for Aussies and Kiwis, but I can’t stress enough for SOLOists from around the globe how nice the Gold Coast is for a holiday. FAAAAAARR better than New Zealand Have a look here for further info.

Moving forward now…
The chat-room is unfortunately delayed again. Our webmaster William has not been impressed with any of the programs available at the moment, so it appears we may be heading for a new Drupal upgrade. Please direct any enquiries to William. I don’t understand the first thing about website upgrades etc.
The Comrade Collection initiative has had moderate success. In all, we had five new members eligible for their copy of the Free Rad. Don’t worry guys, I haven’t forgotten, and will be in touch shortly.
Samizdat has been launched, with the first issue out last Sunday! Many thanks go to Mark Hubbard for sponsoring the first issue with a kind donation. If anybody else wishes to help out as Mark has done, it will be much appreciated! A website for Samizdat will be up shortly. More details soon.
See you next month!
Mitch Lees, Commissar of KASS. P.S. Huge apologies for the lateness, I have just finished with university exams, which prevented me from getting this out on the 1st!

What's a man got to do to
What's a man got to do to see this Samizdat thing?
I've got the proto version in MS Publisher format but can't load that.
Well...
So far from Solo, I've earned a Mayhem of the Month AND a Faithless Hussy award... next month, just to improve my reputation, I've got my eye on the Bar Hooliganess award (ought to be a cinch).
Linz, I've found a gorgeous gay fella who owns a fabulous bar here in Auckland - he claims to know you from your Whanganui days... know your ex-boyfriend that is. So, I've promised him your presence next time you're in Auckland... he really is quite gorgeous.... and you know me, I"m hard to impress when it comes to those girly men!
I hope some of our American friends are able to make the trip to SoloC5 at Hilton's place. What are the chances of this panning out? Long way to come, but if it's anything like the previous SoloC's, well worth the journey.
Jesus!
Yes, a journey into the heart of darkness (Wellington) turned out surprisingly well. Good to be back Linz.
Uurrrrrrrp...
Straight from Satan's bottom...
... belated apologies to all those I may have offended.
