Just received this e-mail from Webmaster Wm:

In hospital due to car accident +1989277xxxx i was rear ended have one of the us folks call and i will fill them in.

I shall refrain from rear-ending jokes since it might be serious. Would one of you lovely US SOLOists like to give him a call on the above number and report back?

Thanks.

More serious than I thought. Glad you pulled through with all your brains intact! Smiling

Home from surgery

Home from facial reconstruction surgery. I now have some metal and screws in my head, but my nose is in the right place again. They say I was about 1mm from brain damage.

Sounds nasty, glad to know

Sounds nasty, glad to know that it is OK. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, William.

Michael Moore never mentioned THAT in Sicko. Viva socialised medicine! I take it all back!

Are you serious, WSS???

... if that were true you'd have hospitals overflowing with the self-inflicted. Smiling

Not so much unwilling ...

Lindsay Perigo's picture

Yes, it's the lack of surgeons willing to do it.

Not so much unwilling as unable. Traumatised from the last time.

I couldn't access Wm's pic on Facebook either, but he sent it to me privately. I got a terrible fright. I know he'll come out handsomer than ever, but he really had a serious argument with that steering wheel.

I advised against the Perigo

I advised against the Perigo Upgrade in his reconstructive surgery. I'm told that's the most expensive one.

The investigation will likely clear Hillary. She is apparently in Iowa, and her motorcade to power supposedly slows to 55 on a red.

William, I meant to leave a note on Facebook (but is blocked to me). This was a serious, shocking accident. American facial surgeons are the best on earth (except for Canadians). Bear up, and be glad you are insured.

Home for Christmas

Only one handed administration (quiet Linz) until my arm heals. Thsnks everyone for your thoughts. Forget eggnog I have percocet.

Get well William

Not nice to hear, but glad it's not life threatening!

Update

Landon Erp's picture

The official word is that he was rear-ended at a stop light on Wednesday by someone going approxomately 35mph. He had his arm sticking out, and his injuries were an arm broken between the shoulder and elbow, a number of bones around the eyes and nose were broken as well.

He said it was scary at first since there was a lot of blood, but he sounded like he was in good shape when I talked to him, even working in a couple jokes for good measure.

As far as ETA on a return, he was told he couldn't even think about work until after the new year. He also has some facial reconstruction surgury scheduled for next Wednesday (he wanted me to mention he's going for an upgrade so he gave the surgeons a photo of Linz), but beyond that he's going to be pretty doped up for a while, but will do his best to make a speedy and full recovery.
