One of the greatest pleasures in life is to approach all men on equal footing with no guile or pretense, with no mind-reading or mind games and to exercise sincerity and fortitude in the face of strong opposition.

mind-games, deceit and posturing

KevinOwen's picture

"where mind-games, deceit and posturing—and having to read between the lines—"

Thats all good in theory but to do that job you will need more than quotes. You will need a technology of the mind to rehabilitate those that use mind-games, deceit and posturing.

I haven't seen any objectivists so far, that know anything about fixing a mind. If I've missed any could they please put their hand up. Most bits of philosophy [objectivism]I've read, I my self would agree with and use in every day life but when it comes to fixing a mind [not a brain] objectivism seems to end there.

Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe an objectivist can give me a straight answer without deceit and posturing—and having to read between the lines about that area of objectivism. Does it have a technology to fix the mind. Cheers

'We aspire to embody within

Lindsay Perigo's picture

'We aspire to embody within our ranks and promote at large a culture of sincerity and integrity, where mind-games, deceit and posturing—and having to read between the lines—in one's dealings with others are a thing of the past, where Shakespeare's "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. ..." is second nature.'
