Ayatollah Spitzer's History: He Does to Whores What He Did to Us

It is ironic that New York Democrat Governor Eliot Spitzer has had his undeserved reputation for high moral standards tarnished by his sexual escapades which, while perhaps sleazy, did not harm any of us. In fact he deserved our moral scorn for his assault on productive individuals and flaunting of the rule of law when he was New York attorney general, done arrogantly in the name of "morality."

In an article entitled "Eliot Spitzer: Ayatollah General," in the April/May 2005 issue of The New Individualist, Roger Donway exposed the details of that envy-based assault as Spitzer prepared to run for governor. The disregard he showed for his family in the recent sex scandal is nothing compared to the disregard he has shown for our freedoms.

You can read Roger's article on The Atlas Society's website www.atlassociety.org or at http://www.objectivistcenter.org/showcontent.aspx? ct=1542&h=53 .

Also watch for Roger's piece on "Waterboarding Businessmen" in the upcoming April 2008 issue of The New Individualist.

Anything I Say...

... will just sound like gloating... Smiling

I'm shocked by the name-calling!

mvardoulis's picture

In a good way! Smiling

If Bill Clinton can appoint a "Drug Czar" (and this was a name of *his own choosing*!) then a slimeball like Spitzer is clearly worthy of getting the title of "Ayatollah" - however pleasantly surprised I may be at who issued him the title! How perfectly 'uncivil'!

The Monster in the Street

It's easy enough to kick this guy now that he's down. But he was voted in by a majority. So it's the people who are the real problem here -- not the politician. Probably 95% or so of the citizenry favor prostitution tyranny. So if you care about justice, and want to know who to truly kick and hate -- that would be the sleazy general public.

Further poetic justice

In a cnn.com report, it was noted that Feds were tipped to Spitzer based on some 'suspicious' account transfers that the IRS was investigating. So it was statism and its invasive nature that actually dipped into the statist Spitzer's private life and did him in.

Morality...

kaiwai's picture

Anyone find it funny its never 'immoral people' such as I?

I love that, especially when there are sanctimonious pricks who cruise around the country giving sermons on the virtues of morality, only to be found with either a prostitute, in a toilet looking for sex, talking to a rent boy wanting sex and drugs or the cherry on the cake, being found in the same room with a dead hooker and drugs.

Delightful ...

... in two respects: one, to see this egregious hypocrite get his comeuppance; two, to see KASSless calling him "Ayatollah Spitzer." These "civility"-mongers who normally argue that name-calling is never justified finally concede, by implication and deed, that it is. My argument all along has been that name-calling of the evil (calling them what they are, as long as you can show that they are what you're calling them) is not only justified but mandatory. Perhaps this is progress.

Today I was driving my car,

Jason Quintana's picture

Today I was driving my car, and I heard news of this on the local news radio station. I laughed so hard I almost got into a wreck. Mr. Spitzer attacked (and in some cases ruined) the careers of a number of brilliant Wall Street luminaries. His career was built upon this track record of attacking our most brilliant capitalists.

I really don't care if he enjoys banging prostitutes behind his wife's back, but his public destruction is pure justice, and however far it goes it won't be enough to counteract the damage that he has done to people who are vastly superior to himself.

Damn right, Pete L, well

Damn right, Pete L, well put, Hahaha...

In a way, I wish he treated producers like prostitutes

I would say Spitzer actually treats whores better than he treats us. Presumably, he traded value for value with hookers in a consensual, non-coercive manner. He used the brute force of the state on others.

Superb.

Superb.

And great to see that slime doesn't always pay, and poetic justice is still so poetic.

I can't remember, was he also one of the slugs that went after Microsoft?

Yes, yes, yes, yes!

I really don't like this guy :)
