Geert Wilders speech to Hollands Parliament

Geert Wilder's speech to Holland's Parliament

"Madam
Speaker, allow me, first, to express my sincere thanks to you
personally for having planned a debate on Islam on the very day of my
birthday. I could not have wished for a nicer present! Madam Speaker,
approximately 1400 years ago war was declared on us by an ideology of
hate and violence which arose at the time and was proclaimed by a
barbarian who called himself the Prophet Mohammed.

I am referring to Islam.

Madam
Speaker, let me start with the foundation of the Islamic faith, the
Koran. The Koran's core theme is about the duty of all Muslims to fight
non-Muslims; an Islamic Mein Kampf, in which fight means war, jihad.
The Koran is above all a book of war, a call to butcher non-Muslims
(2:191, 3:141, 4:91, 5:3), to roast them (4:56, 69:30-69:32), and to
cause bloodbaths amongst them (47:4). Jews are compared to monkeys and
pigs (2:65, 5:60, 7:166), while people who believe in Jesus Christ as
the Son of God must according to the Koran be fought (9:30).

Madam
Speaker, the West has no problems with Jews or Christians, but it does
have problems with Islam. It is still possible, even today, for Muslims
to view the Koran, which they regard as valid for all time, as a
licence to kill. And that is exactly what happens. The Koran is worded
in such a way that its instructions are addressed to Muslims for
eternity, which includes today's Muslims. This in contrast to texts in
the Bible, which is formulated as a number of historical narratives,
placing events in a distant past. Let us remind ourselves that it was
Muslims, not Jews or Christians, who committed the catastrophic
terrorist attacks in New York, Madrid and London; and that it was no
coincidence that Theo van Gogh was brutally murdered by a Muslim,
Mohammed Bouyeri.

Madam Speaker, I acknowledge that there are
people who call themselves Muslims and who respect our laws. My party,
the Freedom Party, has nothing against such people, of course. However,
the Koran does have something against them. For it is stated in the
Koran in Sura 2, verse 85, that those believers who do not believe in
everything the Koran states will be humiliated and receive the severest
punishment; which means that they will roast in Hell. In other words,
people who call themselves Muslims but who do not believe, for example,
in Sura 9, verse 30, which states that Jews and Christians must be
fought, or, for example, in Sura 5, verse 38, which states that the
hand of a thief must be cut off, such people will be humiliated and
roast in Hell. Note that it is not me who is making this up. All this
can be found in the Koran. The Koran also states that Muslims who
believe in only part of the Koran are in fact apostates, and we know
what has to happen to apostates. They have to be killed.

Madam
Speaker, the Koran is a book that incites to violence. I remind the
House that the distribution of such texts is unlawful according to
Article 132 of our Penal Code. In addition, the Koran incites to hatred
and calls for murder and mayhem. The distribution of such texts is made
punishable by Article 137(e). The Koran is therefore a highly dangerous
book; a book which is completely against our legal order and our
democratic institutions. In this light, it is an absolute necessity
that the Koran be banned for the defence and reinforcement of our
civilisation and our constitutional state. I shall propose a
second-reading motion to that effect.

Madam Speaker, there is no
such thing as "moderate Islam".... As Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan
said the other day, and I quote, "There is no moderate or immoderate
Islam. Islam is Islam and that's it".... Islam is in pursuit of
dominance. It wishes to exact its imperialist agenda by force on a
worldwide scale (8:39). This is clear from European history.
Fortunately, the first Islamic invasion of Europe was stopped at
Poitiers in 732; the second in Vienna in 1683. Madam Speaker, let us
ensure that the third Islamic invasion, which is currently in full
spate, will be stopped too in spite of its insidious nature and
notwithstanding the fact that, in contrast to the 8th and 17th
centuries, it has no need for an Islamic army because the scared
"dhimmis" in the West, also those in Dutch politics, have left their
doors wide open to Islam and Muslims.

Apart from conquest, Madam
Speaker, Islam is also bent on installing a totally different form of
law and order, namely Sharia law. This makes Islam, apart from a
religion for hundreds of millions of Muslims also, and in particular, a
political ideology (with political/constitutional/Islamic basic values,
etc). Islam is an ideology without any respect for others; not for
Christians, not for Jews, not for non-believers and not for apostates.
Islam aims to dominate, subject, kill and wage war.

Madam
Speaker, the Islamic incursion must be stopped. Islam is the Trojan
Horse in Europe. If we do not stop Islamification now, Eurabia and
Netherabia will just be a matter of time. One century ago, there were
approximately 50 Muslims in the Netherlands. Today, there are about 1
million Muslims in this country. Where will it end? We are heading for
the end of European and Dutch civilisation as we know it. Where is our
Prime Minister in all this? In reply to my questions in the House he
said, without batting an eyelid, that there is no question of our
country being Islamified. Now, this reply constituted a historical
error as soon as it was uttered. Very many Dutch citizens, Madam
Speaker, experience the presence of Islam around them. And I can report
that they have had enough of burkas, headscarves, the ritual slaughter
of animals, so-called honour revenge, blaring minarets, female
circumcision, hymen restoration operations, abuse of homosexuals,
Turkish and Arabic on the buses and trains as well as on town hall
leaflets, halal meat at grocery shops and department stores, Sharia
exams, the Finance Minister's Sharia mortgages, and the enormous over
representation of Muslims in the area of crime, including Moroccan
street terrorists.

In spite of all this, Madam Speaker, there is
hope. Fortunately. The majority of Dutch citizens have become fully
aware of the danger, and regard Islam as a threat to our culture. My
party, the Freedom Party, takes those citizens seriously and comes to
their defence.

Many Dutch citizens are fed up to the back teeth
and yearn for action. However, their representatives in The Hague are
doing precisely nothing. They are held back by fear, political
correctness or simply electoral motives. This is particularly clear in
the case of PvdA, the Dutch Labour Party, which is afraid of losing
Muslim voters. The Prime Minister said in Indonesia the other day that
Islam does not pose any danger. Minister Donner believes that Sharia
law should be capable of being introduced in the Netherlands if the
majority want it. Minister Vogelaar babbles about the future
Netherlands as a country with a Judeo-Christian-Islamic tradition, and
that she aims to help Islam take root in Dutch society. In saying this,
the Minister shows that she has obviously gone stark raving mad. She is
betraying Dutch culture and insulting Dutch citizens.

Madam
Speaker, my party, the Freedom Party, demands that Minister Vogelaar
retract her statement. If the Minister fails to do so, the Freedom
Party parliamentary group will withdraw its support for her. No Islamic
tradition must ever be established in the Netherlands: not now and also
not in a few centuries' time.

Madam Speaker, let me briefly
touch on the government's response to the WRR [Netherlands Scientific
Council for Government Policy] report. On page 12 of its response, the
government states that Islam is not contrary to democracy or human
rights. All I can say to that is that things can't get much more
idiotic than this.

Madam Speaker, it is a few minutes to twelve.
If we go on like this, Islam will herald the end of our Western
civilisation as well as Dutch culture.

I would like to round off
my first-reading contribution with a personal appeal to the Prime
Minister on behalf of a great many Dutch citizens: stop the
Islamification of the Netherlands!

Mr Balkenende, a historic
task rests on your shoulders. Be courageous. Do what many Dutch
citizens are screaming out for. Do what the country needs. Stop all
immigration from Muslim countries, ban all building of new mosques,
close all Islamic schools, ban burkas and the Koran. Expel all criminal
Muslims from the country, including those Moroccan street terrorists
that drive people mad. Accept your responsibility! Stop Islamification!

Enough is enough, Mr Balkenende. Enough is enough."

Geert Wilders plans sequel to Fitna

Unbowed. "Dutch politician to make another anti-Muslim film," from Reuters / Hollywood Reporter, July 1:

AMSTERDAM (Hollywood Reporter) - Right-wing Dutch
politician Geert Wilders is planning a sequel to his anti-Muslim film
"Fitna," the local daily De Telegraaf reported Tuesday. The move comes
after the Dutch Ministry of Justice on Monday decided not to prosecute
him for inciting hatred of Muslims with his film denouncing the Koran.

Not to mention the ridiculous charges filed in Jordan.

About 40 complaints were filed against Wilders by both
Muslim and non-Muslim organizations in the Netherlands after "Fitna"
was released on the Internet. A number of those groups are thought to
be considering appeals against the Dutch Prosecutors decision.

Wilders also was investigated for remarks published in the
newspaper De Volkskrant calling the Koran fascist and calling for it to
be banned.

Wilders inspires more political dissent in Holland

`Iron Rita' Starts New Dutch Political Party After Wilders Film

By Jurjen van de Pol

April 3 (Bloomberg) -- Former Dutch Immigration Minister
Rita Verdonk will today start the nation's latest political
party, a week after fellow lawmaker Geert Wilders released an
anti-Islam movie.

Verdonk, whose probe of Somali-born lawmaker Ayaan Hirsi
Ali's right to Dutch residency led to the government's collapse
in 2006, would win 13 seats of the 150 in parliament if
elections were held today, according to a March 28 poll by
Synovate/Interview NSS. Wilders's Freedom Party would get 10.

The new Proud of the Netherlands party and Wilders's movie
reflect a shake-up of Dutch politics since Pim Fortuyn, who
railed against Muslims and said the Dutch borders should be
closed, was slain in 2002. At least three anti-immigration
political groupings have been formed since his death.

``The traditional parties have lost a considerable part of
their obvious backing,'' said Kees Aarts, a professor in
political science at the University of Twente. The mainstream
parties lost ground during the 1990s as they didn't respond to
widespread concerns about immigration, he said. The three
parties that make up the ruling coalition would have 74 seats if
elections were held today, less than a majority in parliament.

Verdonk will present her party platform at its launch
tonight and won't comment on what she stands for beforehand, her
spokeswoman Kristel Giebels said today. Verdonk was forced out
of the VVD free-market liberal party last year after criticizing
party policy on immigration.

Wilders Film

The debate about immigration in the Netherlands, where
Muslims account for about 5 percent of the population and which
is the most densely populated state in continental Europe,
consumes the country and is changing its international
reputation.

Wilders released his movie on the Internet March 27. The
15-minute film features verses from the Koran alongside images
of the attacks of the World Trade Center in New York in 2001. In
the movie, he calls on Muslims to rip ``hate-preaching'' verses
out of the Koran.

Filmmaker Theo van Gogh was murdered in 2004 after making a
movie with Verdonk's fellow VVD member Hirsi Ali, stoking
violence. Though the government has condemned the Wilders film,
people have protested against Dutch interests in Indonesia and
Malaysian groups have called for a boycott of Dutch products
since its release.

`Iron Rita'

Known as Iron Rita when she was immigration minister,
Verdonk investigated Hirsi Ali's asylum application. The D66
party, then part of the government, called for Verdonk's
resignation. Verdonk refused to go and the ruling coalition of
the VVD, the Christian Democratic Alliance and the D66
collapsed. Verdonk had previously drawn ire by calling for a
code forbidding the use of any language other than Dutch in
public.

Verdonk, who once helped run a prison, will inaugurate her
new party with a boat ride starting in Amsterdam's IJ harbor.
Tickets cost up to 500 euros ($782). Verdonk will use the funds
toward her goal of raising 12 million euros to build up the
party. She has won support from voters disillusioned with ruling
parties, including Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende's
Christian Democrats, Aarts said.

`More Useful'

``These are people that are unsatisfied with current
politics and quite easily choose a newcomer,'' Reinier Heutink,
director of Synovate/Interview NSS, said by telephone. Men above
50 with a low level of education make up a substantial share of
Verdonk's base, he said.

Still there are Verdonk supporters who wish she would stick
with established parties: ``I'm very curious to hear her program
but fear that I will be disappointed,'' said Dion Bartels, a
lawyer specialized in real estate who bought a ticket for
tonight's boat ride. ``Rita is much more useful within the right
wing of the liberal party than on her own; she needs to
return.''

The ultra-right National Party has offered to place a controversial
anti-Islamic film on its website. The film by the Dutch ultra-right MP
Geert Wilders describes the Koran as a fascist book that teaches
intolerance and provokes violence. Several thousand people protested
against it in the streets of Amsterdam over the weekend.

Dutch TV channels
have refused to broadcast it and the Dutch authorities fear that it could
stir up violent protests in the Moslem world. A spokesman for the Czech
ultra-right National Party said the 15-minute film should be broadcast all
over Europe as a response to Islamic terrorism.
The party has also offered its author Geert Wilders protection and asylum
at an unspecified place in the Czech Republic.

Dutch PM is a coward says MP Geert Wilders.

The controversial Dutch MP Geert Wilders, (who is to release a film
later this month reportedly attacking the Koran) has called his Prime
Minister a coward who has sided with the Taliban. His comments were
made after praising the Danish PM for his stance on freedom of
expression. Wilders said:

"I wish we had such a
prime minister in Holland. "Unfortunately we have a coward who will not
stand fast on the constitution's words about freedom of expression, but
instead has sided with the Taliban."

It's not surprising
that the Danish PM, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, is trying his best to
disassociate himself and his country from Geert Wilders:

"I
dissociate myself completely from Geert Wilders' points of view, and I
must clearly reject Mr Wilders' attempt at associating his views to
those of the Danish government. "The Danish government respects all
religions. Wilders generalises and demonises groups because of their
religious or ethnic background."

New 'Bin Laden tape' threatens EU

In a new audio message purportedly from Osama Bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader threatens the EU over the re-printing of a cartoon offensive to Muslims.
The voice on it says the cartoon, re-published recently in all major Danish newspapers, was part of a crusade involving Pope Benedict XVI.

The drawing, first published in 2005, depicts the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban.

The voice on the audio has not yet been verified as belonging to Bin Laden.

The message comes on the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq.

But the BBC's Jonathan Beale in Washington says that the message was probably released to not to mark that anniversary, but rather the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, which Sunni Muslims mark on Thursday.

It appeared on a Islamist website that has carried al-Qaeda messages in the past.

Over the audio is a graphic with a still image of Bin Laden holding an AK-47 and bearing the logo of al-Sahab, the media wing of al-Qaeda. There is a written translation of the message in English.

'Crowd pleaser'

John Pike, director of the defence think tank GlobalSecurity.org, said bin Laden had chosen to talk about the cartoon in an effort to remain relevant and provide direction to followers.

"His judgement is that it's a consistent crowd-pleaser, and that if he has any hope of getting people stirred up, this is probably a good way to try to do it."

Last month, Denmark's leading newspapers reprinted one of 12 cartoons that first angered many Muslims when they were originally published in September 2005.

Anger in the Muslim world peaked in 2006 as newspapers in other countries published the cartoons.

Some of the protests turned violent and led to the torching of Danish diplomatic offices in Damascus and Beirut and dozens of deaths in Nigeria, Libya and Pakistan.

The Danish newspapers decided to republish the most controversial drawing after Danish intelligence said it had uncovered a plot to kill the cartoonist.

The re-printed drawing shows the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban. Islamic law forbids any representation of the Prophet.

The message attributed to bin Laden says the attacks of Europeans on women and children "paled [in comparison] when you went overboard in your unbelief and... went to the extent of publishing these insulting drawings.

"This is the greatest misfortune and the most dangerous," the voice says.

"If there is no check on the freedom of your words, then let your hearts be open to the freedom of our actions".

It is not clear when the message was recorded. The last audio message attributed to Bin Laden appeared in November but he has not been seen on video since October 2004.

He is believed to be in hiding on the rugged border area between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The implication being...

Richard Wiig's picture

...that if it wasn't impossible, we probably would.

"Denmark has embarked on a widespread diplomatic campaign to explain to governments in the Islamic world, that while it does not agree with the sentiments of Danish cartoons seen as offensive by Muslims, Denmark's strict constitutional laws on freedom of expression make it impossible for the government to intervene."

Danish PM attacks Islam comments

Denmark's Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has strongly criticised the Dutch MP Geert Wilders, and his plans to release a film which is critical of Islam.
The film has triggered Muslim outrage, even before it has been released.

“I dissociate myself completely from Geert Wilders' points of view, and I must clearly reject Mr Wilders' attempt at associating his views to those of the Danish government," Mr Rasmussen said.

"The government stands guard over the freedom of expression, but I wish to underline once more that we do not share the values and views that Mr Wilders represents.”

Mr Rasmussen's unusual statement on Wednesday came following an interview with the Dutch MP on Danish national television.

During the interview, Mr Wilders praised the Danish prime minister for his stance on freedom of expression, in connection with the publication and re-publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in Danish media.

Outrage caused

The original publication of the Danish caricatures in 2005 – one of which portrayed the Prophet with a bomb in his turban - caused outrage in the Islamic world.

It resulted in Danish diplomatic missions being torched, and a widespread boycott of Danish produce being introduced across the Muslim world.

“I wish we had such a prime minister in Holland,” Mr Wilders said.

“Unfortunately we have a coward who will not stand fast on the constitution's words about freedom of expression, but instead has sided with the Taleban,” he added.

“This proves my point that Islam is a very violent religion.

"If I had made a movie about the bible, I am sure there wouldn't be the sort of thing from the Vatican as the threats from Pakistan and the Mufti of Lebanon, with threats to me and my fellow countrymen,” Mr Wilders said.

"Condescending statements"

Reacting to Mr Wilders' statements, Prime Minister Rasmussen said he opposed any expression, action or indication that attempted to demonise groups of people on the basis of their religion or ethnic backgrounds.

“I strongly condemn Geert Wilders' condescending statements about Muslims.

"I find these expressions extremely offensive.

"They are so insulting that I wish to hear no group in Danish society referred to in such a manner in the public debate.”

Anti-Danish feeling has been rekindled in the Islamic world after 17 Danish publications reprinted cartoons of the Prophet.

This followed the arrest last month of two men accused of plotting to murder the cartoonists responsible for portraying the Prophet with a bomb in his turban.

Denmark has embarked on a widespread diplomatic campaign to explain to governments in the Islamic world, that while it does not agree with the sentiments of Danish cartoons seen as offensive by Muslims, Denmark's strict constitutional laws on freedom of expression make it impossible for the government to intervene.

I understood Wilders to be saying...

Does he support that law that would mean a ban of the koran?
Probably, but at least he's consistent.

True, but I do think that the main point he was getting at is the very notion that we ban books such as Mein Kemf, and yet, we allow such things as the Quran. With that being said, then one would equally have to remove the Tanakh/Bible from circulation because of some hairy subjects that are raised.

What they could do, however, is ban certain versions of the Quran being sold in the Netherlands - such as the Muhammad Muhsin Khan version which has deliberate additions to the book which have been used to incite hatred. I have two translations (2 commentaries, plus 2 sunnah/hadtih collections), so I don't think my academic persuites should be punished.

Dutch 'must show' anti-Islam film

The Danish cartoonist behind drawings satirising the Prophet Muhammad has urged a Dutch lawmaker to air an anti-Islam film despite Muslim outrage.

Kurt Westergaard said MP Geert Wilders should show his film, despite government warnings that this would damage Dutch interests.

He said that no Danish politician would dare to block the film.

Mr Westergaard's cartoons in a Danish paper triggered riots by Muslims in many countries in 2006.

"Wilders must show his film," Mr Westergaard told the Dutch Volkskrant newspaper on Monday.

"In Denmark, we have criticism of everything: the Queen, politicians, religion... provoking debate is the job of the newspaper and so also of the cartoonist. Muslims have to accept that.

"A Danish politician knows that you should not limit freedom of expression," he said.

Mr Westergaard was one of 12 cartoonists behind the Prophet Muhammad drawings, but he was responsible for what was considered the most controversial of the pictures.

The caricature - originally published in the Jyllands-Posten newspaper in 2005 - featured the head of Islam's holiest prophet with a turban depicting a bomb with a lit fuse.

The cartoons were later reprinted by more than 50 newspapers, triggering protests in parts of the Muslim world in 2006.

Last month, Danish police arrested three people suspected of planning to attack Mr Westergaard, who now lives under constant protection.

In response, Danish newspapers reprinted Mr Westergaard's caricatures to show their commitment to freedom of speech.
