In case you have not already heard it, here is a most inspiring lecture by Randy Pausch. He is a professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon, who has done research in virtual reality, and is a founder of the Alice (educational) software project. This is a "last lecture", part of a series where top academics present the "wisdom" they would impart to the world, if it was their last chance. This talk is well worth the 76 mins (approx).

I saw his life-affirming

Bosch Fawstin's picture

I saw his life-affirming speech a short while back and his his idea that we should wait for people's good to come around left me ambivalent at first, but also left me considering that he may have been on to something, at least regarding particular individuals. And that he mentioned it again in an interview is noteworthy, for this is a man who had no time to say anything he didn't fully mean or had first hand knowledge about. Sad to hear he succumbed. He looked and sounded like a man who understood and valued life above all.
