SOLO-NZ/Australia Press Release: Honour the Anzacs—Take out the Nanny State!Submitted by Lindsay Perigo on Thu, 2008-04-24 08:24
SOLO-NZ/Australia Press Release: Honour the Anzacs—Take out the Nanny State! April 25, 2008 “The Gallipoli campaign in which Australian and New Zealand troops first fought side by side, and which Anzac Day commemorates, failed in its military objective of capturing Istanbul and taking Turkey out of World War One. But in symbolising a combined resolve to preserve and protect the cherished liberties unique to Western Civilisation, it has been outstandingly successful,” says SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo. “Even the conscientiously dumbed-down education system spawned by successive Labour and National governments has not been able to diminish the enthusiasm of youngsters intent on joining military veterans for Dawn Parade and other Anzac Day services, which set new attendance records every year. “That is why it is imperative to purge Anzac Day of the participation of odious politicians who would hijack a celebration of freedom for their anti-freedom agendas. And just as imperative to rid the country of their odious influence. “Those who fought for our freedoms are no longer free to smoke in their club-rooms. Or anywhere at all except at home—and Helen’s nico-nazis are working on that. “Freedom of speech is now suspended for Election Year, with only Helen allowed to break the fascist rules she has enacted, and her flunkeys constantly trying to figure out ways of doing so. “Freedom of speech will be denied altogether under proposed health legislation restricting media coverage of foods and beverages deemed by Nanny State to be bad for us. “It will be denied altogether under legislation Helen’s government still itches to introduce making it an imprisonable crime to offend the likes of Islamonazis. “People who exercise their freedom to open their shops this morning will be prosecuted. “And on and on. At every turn the Beehive Bludgers are conspiring to prove Thomas Jefferson right when he said, ‘The natural order of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.’ It’s not just the government parties—National is too busy doing its own Neville Chamberlain impersonation, and Act’s Rodney Hide is too busy preening in front of a mirror, to be an antidote to Helen’s galloping socialism. “This is not what the Anzacs fought for. “This Anzac Day, patriotic New Zealanders should resolve to take out the Nanny State,” Perigo concludes. My father's ancestors...
...owe a great deal to the Anzac forces. My grandparents came to America speaking Greek, instead of Turkish, largely because of the heroism of the Anzacs. Excellent release, Linz, let's hope kiwis honor the Anzacs as you stated.
Lest we forget
the freedoms we once had.
Charles Upham absolutely
Charles Upham absolutely hated government officials, especially the IRD. Hated them and gave them a very hard time
A very good man, who I reckon grew very bitter with what NZ turned into.
