SOLO Go SlowSubmitted by Jameson on Thu, 2008-05-08 09:42.
Anyone else here feel like they're on dial-up trying to access SOLO? I'm starting to skip new posts because I can't be fucked waiting. Wondering if it's all those You Tube embeds... William?

Weird things happening.... making posts that don't appear... then suddenly they all pop on...
Slowness
I've put a ticket in this morning first thing as I received a few emails that problems started last night. Today I'm flying to Tampa so I'll try to check in whilst not airborne and see if they have fixed it.
Wm
Thanks, William
... it's pretty slow right now as a matter of fact.
Slow ups
The server that SOLO uses hosts several other websites. Sometimes our fellow tenants overtask the processor and cause our website to slow to a crawl. All we can do is complain so that the service provider can address the issue. If you do notice a slowdown don't hesitate to email webmaster@solopassion.com so I can lodge the complaint. They usually fix it right away but often don't know there is a problem until we complain.

My guess is that this server
My guess is that this server hosts other sites too and the server is busy doing tasks for those other sites.
I'm pretty sure this was the cause of the problem last time this happened. We've noticed this has been happening again and are taking the issue up with the hosting provider.
Up and down
About once an hour I notice a slow up. Sometimes a freeze. Has improved slightly since:

Any idea why it's going like
Any idea why it's going like a slug in mud?
Not really. My guess is that this server hosts other sites too and the server is busy doing tasks for those other sites. It could also be the way the server is set up - one possibility here.
I've noticed a drop off in discussions. I wonder if the server slowness has been a factor.
SOsLOw...
Clever.
Any idea why it's going like a slug in mud?
The videos themselves don't
The videos themselves don't pass through the SOsLOw server but come directly from youtube. Only the text of the embed comes via SOLO.
