A political cartoonist has been arrested in Holland for insulting people in his cartoons. Why the Dutch don't rise up, I do not know.

Richard, I heard of this the

Bosch Fawstin's picture

Richard, I heard of this the other day, and it makes me think of how rare America's First Amendment is. Not only does this artist have to worry about the enemy, but his own government, it's unreal.

Translations of the qu'ran

Sandi's picture

"Shall we tell you of those who lose most in respect of their deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life, while they thought that they were acquiring good by their works? They are those who deny the Signs of their Lord and the fact of their having to meet Him (in the Hereafter): vain will be their works, nor shall We, on the Day of Judgment, give them any weight. That is their reward, Hell, because they rejected Faith, and took My Signs and My Messengers by way of jest." (18:103-106)

"Why on Earth did they require ten members of the Constabulary to arrest him?!?!"

To protect him from assignation by Muslim extremists?

It is rather ghastly when

Elijah's picture

It is rather ghastly when this sort of thing is undertaken.

Why on Earth did they require ten members of the Constabulary to arrest him?!?!

Instead of rising up the Dutch should simply allow a flood to occur and drown all these chaps.
