One way or another, it’s been a long weekend of religion—of irrational beliefs based on faith in defiance of reason.

Two television polls indicated that huge numbers of New Zealanders now think National will be a significant improvement on Labour. That’s as good an argument for restricting the vote as I’ve ever heard.

The problem with Labour is that it’s full of control freaks who want to dictate every aspect of our lives.

The problem with National is that it lacks the guts to take on the control freaks and promises to outdo them in control freakery: because the voters lap up their own slave status.

Labour has principles—evil ones.

National has no principles. In place of principles it has the objective of gaining power by out-Labouring Labour. Tyranny by default.

Don Brash described National well enough over the weekend. He went in with principles, he told the Sunday Star-Times. He put them in a box to accommodate the likes of Murray McCully, arguably the lowest life-form in Parliament. Like roses, Brash said. He put them in a box. When he opened the box, two years later, they were dead.

Both National and Labour are disgusting; National more so.

Voters are morons and masochists to believe in either.

David de Cleene is a wannabe witch doctor whose con-man credentials are as good as any politician’s. He featured on TVNZ’s Sunday programme last night. He says he’s about to reveal God’s plan. He talked a depressed young lady out of $75,000 to help him get ready to reveal God’s plan.

He also talked her off her medication, whereupon she became extremely ill. He says he’ll give the money back if she isn’t better by the time he reveals God’s plan.

Just another God-touting charlatan. They’re all the same. You’d have to be a moron or a masochist to believe in any of them.

Man-made Global Warming—the most fashionable religion of them all—was the subject of a documentary on Prime TV last night. A documentary that blew it out of the water. A documentary that Prime gutlessly said didn’t represent ITS views, in a way that it wouldn’t with Al Gore’s work of fiction, An Inconvenient Truth.

Warming is cyclical and natural. It’s made not by man but by the sun. CO2 levels are determined by temperature, not the other way round. The Global Warming campaign is driven by a desire to destroy industrial civilisation.

All of this came out in the documentary.

Patrick Moore, the co-founder of Greenpeace, pointed out the influx of peaceniks and neo-Marxists into the environmental movement after the demolition of the Berlin Wall. These creatures drive the campaign, backed by charlatan scientists seeking taxpayer research grants, and media that are a travesty of journalism.

Anyone who buys into it is a moron or a masochist.

Moronry and masochism are the staple of religion and all other confidence tricks. As I say, it’s been a long weekend of them. And it wasn't even Easter!

Side-stepping!

Lindsay Perigo's picture

Passing it on to Lindsay is a cop-out. He gets this feedback every time I'm on. The point about it is not to pass it on to Lindsay, but to act on it! And in that regard he is stymied by Brent Impey, CEO and prize fuckwit who just *hates* my philosophy and my old-school values such as being able to speak. Impey has presided over disastrous ratings drops in his cultivation of complete dribblers like the current Breakfast host. Impey is the one who stands in the way of the employment of decent broadcasters and a ratings revival!!

Gosh! he replied!

 Dear Mr Harris,

It was a delight to listen to Lindsay Perigo yesterday morning on Radio Live.
Mr Perigo has interesting, contrarian viewpoints which are always fascinating to listen to and his 'editorials' are always well thought out and sensible.
Is it possible for Mr Perigo to be on Radio Live on a permanent basis?
He was a great success with the 'Politically Incorrect' show on Radio Pacific, and indeed, if you were to casually raise his name in conversation with someone selected at random, you may be surprised at that person remembering the show after all these years, particularly the highly amusing "kae - oar- rahhhh" greeting he used to use.
I know for a fact that people in various Countries were tuning into Radio Live online to listen to Mr Perigo yesterday, and it is hard to imagine such an online listener 'fan club' in America and Britain exists for Willie Jackson and that Jew hating fraudster chap...(if you know what I mean?)
I am sure a permanent format for Mr Perigo would work splendidly once again.
Regards
Elijah Lineberry

Dear Mr Harris

Damn, I hear I have missed another show of Lindsay Perigo's from 6.00am to 9.00am on Queens Birthday Monday.

Is there not some way you can get this presenter a permanent show at a reasonable hour - assuming his wish would be to run such a show. Perigo's is a viewpoint not available through any outlet of the mainstream media: it is provocative and interesting, unlike much of the contradictory mish mash served up by many your other presenters, and I'm sure such a show would work toward a wider audience for your station by being given a slot of its own.

Yours in hope.

Mark Hubbard

...already has a piece on the NZ broadcast in their TGGWS entry. No mention here of what de Lange said.

"New Zealand Broadcast

The Great Global warming Swindle was broadcast in New Zealand on Prime TV, 8:40pm, 01 June 2008. Following the program there was an hour long panel discussion, moderated by Prime presentor Eric Young. The version broadcast was described by Prime as being seven minutes shorter than the version originally shown in Britain, due to concerns raised about the accuracy of the content.

Discussion Panel Participants
Dr. David Wratt - NIWA General Manager
Leighton Smith - NZ climate change sceptic & radio talkshow host
Dr. Wilholm De Lange - Senior Lecturer, Department of Earth & Ocean Sciences - University of Waikato
Cindy Baxter - Green Peace Climate Change Consultant
Dr. Martin Manning - Professor and Research Fellow in Climate Change at the Victoria University, Climate Change Research Institute, Bio

Dr. Manning and Dr Wratt stated that the IPCC reports represented the well documented consensus amongst the scientific community that climate change was a real phenomena and that human activities, including CO2 emissions, were the most likely cause.

Leighton Smith disputed that there was evidence that CO2 caused temperature rises. He referred further science issues to Dr. de Lange. Mr. Smith made several references to the many scientists whose research and publications refuted the human causes of climate change, however no details were provided.

Cindy Baxter was supportive of the IPCC consensus. She reminded the group on several occasions that there were several known funding connections between the groups most vocal in raising doubts about CO2 and large industrial companies (such as ExxonMobil). Ms. Baxter did not offer any evidence that The Great Global Warming Swindle had benefited from such support.

At the end of the session, two different graphs were shown with more recent data than that used in The Great Global Warming Swindle."

Fortunately

the clever government has this task in hand. Platoons of suitably qualified counsellors are available, though unfortunately all are newly dumbed-down and indoctrinated and the exercise would prove counter-productive.

Whatever time it was ...

Delighted you posted the Editorial, Lindsay, so chaps from abroad can see what you were saying this morning.

I was bleary eyed and listening and pleased you pointed out the concerns expressed by that chap Moore about [his own] organisation Greenpeace.

It is a disgrace the communists are rearing their ugly heads again after a good kicking in the 1990s.
