I thought I should mention... (on the off chance anyone cares)... it is 'Bloomsday' ...June 16th..gosh...I almost forgot, and I do hope Dublin has some splendid activities planned for the day. First read the book when I was 15, and although found it quite an effort to get through I am delighted I did...a jolly splendid novel. (For those of you from 'State' education systems, "Bloomsday" is an annual celebration of the novel "Ulysses" by James Joyce, which is set on June 16th, 1904)

Count me in as a James Joyce fan
And ready for any excuse to raise a pint or two or seventeen... Bloomsday it is, then! ;o) (I blame my Irish mother...)
Ducking the post-modern barrage...
I've enjoyed immensely some parts of Ulysses, hated other parts, and never managed yet to make it right through.
I will one day.
[Richard, I finally replied to your email a couple of days ago ... can you have someone email me with what to do in due course. Cheers - and sorry for tardiness.]
Oh! that is splendid news,
Oh! that is splendid news, Richard...I mentioned it to some people yesterday who gave me blank stares in return...(rather predictable as Ulysses is not the name of a beer)...so I was uncertain about solopassion.

Passionate about Joyce
Elijah, some of the regular SOLOists are passionate about James Joyce.
James Valliant and Marcus Bachler, in particular, spring to mind...
