Israel Tools Up for IranSubmitted by Jameson on Sat, 2008-06-21 07:25.
Israel took to the skies with 100 fighter-bombers in a dress rehearsal for an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. The Independent reports "the tankers and helicopters flew 900 miles from their bases in Israel – roughly the same distance as that between Israel and Iran's uranium enrichment plant at Natanz, the US officials said." Good to know there's one nation on this planet that understands the term "self-preservation" and isn't afraid to do something about it. Unsurprisingly, the pro-Islamo New Zealand media lead with this point: "The chief of the United Nations nuclear watchdog said he would resign if there was a military strike on Iran, warning that any such attack would turn the region into a "fireball". "What I see in Iran today is a current, grave and urgent danger. If a military strike is carried out against Iran at this time ... it would make me unable to continue my work," International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohamad ElBaradei told Al Arabiya television in an interview." Pity every U.N. chief isn't prepared to gamble their job on the Israeli gambit.

Is there a good source of
Is there a good source of independent information on the nuclear weaponry, or WMD facilities that are or have been developed in Iran?
Fair points, Bosch and Kyrel
But then it is a damned if the do/don't situation, isn't it? I think one can forgive them for hesitation when the world's biggest superpower is dithering, and has specifically counseled them in restraint.
If anything this demonstration is a politically astute move to force a hand.
Exactly
Right, Mr. Z.
So Lame
Israel's recent military practice run, and overall reaction, is way too little, way too late. Today's ambitious, aggressive, militarist Iran constitutes an immense objective threat to Israel -- and to America and the West. Iran's jihadi proxies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, etc. have already murdered a huge amount of Israelis, Americans, and other Westerners in the past few years alone. When will somebody finally respond to, and try to neutralize, this terrible menace? A nuclear Iran is unbearable and intolerable. Iran's nuclear and WMD facilities should have been heavily bombed a long time ago. So should have all of their top religious, government, and military leaders.
Two things, I'd much rather
Two things, I'd much rather hear of this story after the Israeli strike, and I still can't get over the fact that the head of the UN Nuclear Watchdog Group is named Mohammed. Of course that's likely one of the 'reasons' he was appointed in the first place. This enemy hack concedes that Iran's a threat, but threatens to resign if the Israeli's end that threat. One could argue that he hasn't been doing his job regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions, but one could also argue he has.
