Gordon thinks he is HeathcliffSubmitted by Elijah on Thu, 2008-07-10 07:49.
Oh Gordon...you sick puppy British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has described himself as being like Heathcliff.. (for those of you who are working class and ignorant, he is a fictional character from Wuthering Heights)
Apart from this being rather a shock....(Wuthering Heights is a novel)...and leaving many people speechless...(A book. "Novel" means "book")..this is quickly becoming the most bizarre thing I have ever heard....Heathcliff?!?! ...gosh, that is just astounding! ...a brooding, mean spirited, nasty, disgusting, despicable misfit living in a fantasy world! ...and Brown identifies with this fellow?!?! Of all the things he could have said this is the worst....it makes him seem 'unhinged', not to mention 'unsound'..(a chap none of the other chaps can trust)...and this epithet will follow him forever. It is no great surprise to read that many MPs from his own party are shocked at his claim, and feel it is well beyond the pale. I have always described Brown as being the 'temporary' Prime Minister of Great Britain, and he seems hell bent on proving me correct! Can you imagine Margaret Thatcher saying something like this?

Things get even worse for
Things get even worse for Gordon Brown with former Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, likening him to the Captain of the Titanic.
In an unfortunate choice of words he said "... wasn't the captain who sunk the Titanic, it was the iceberg which did the damage..."
Opps.
Comparing the UK Labour party as the Titanic, and Brown as the Captain of it is not exactly encouraging...(but incredibly funny!)

GB said he was an older and wiser Heathcliff.
The man is still an idiot though!
There are two Heathcliffs
Don't forget Heathcliff remakes himself. Which one is meant?

Ha ha...the Daily Mail have taken this comment and put together a list of other fictional characters Gordon Brown may identify with
I love the inclusion of "Billy Liar" ...(if you have not seen the play or film it may be difficult to appreciate how hilarious the comparison is)...sooooooo funny
