"...smacks more of gravy than of the grave..."
Hope I didn't misquote Dickens, but I am willing to say that the agent making the death threat wasn't in his grave. Thus, the threat wasn't made by a dead man. Duh.
The L. Ron Hubbard identity had potential to be funny only if Hubbard spoke to Owens in a Hubbard-like manner, while still being critical of Owens. If you found passages in Hubbard that could be used against the psychosomatic healing nonsense, that would have been funny. A violation of the rules, and implying the complicity of the administrator, but at least funny.
The death threat was something else entirely. A little bit of your own brand of "passion" slipping out? At a loss for something significant to say? Nothing could be more tyranical than it was--"speak again, and I'll kill you." Did you giggle when you posted it?

Some take time
MindY you’re progressing when you write;
“Beware, newcomers, almost, if not all, of KevinOwen's posts here are attempts to bilk you; what purports to be discussion is in fact the worst kind of lies, claims that are not just unproven, but provably invalid.”
So now you’ve arrived at the truth, try perhaps extending this to the ‘truth’ of any peculiar death threat from beyond the grave?
Greg-stir is the culprit??
Do I understand you, Greg-stir, to be admitting to being the creator of the facetious L. Ron Hubbard persona, and the death-threat?

Misspelt
mispelt
Nothing to do with me... not
Nothing to do with me... not my style at all. I doubt it's Linz either.
The good faith propagandist
Poor Kevin is SOLO's only zombie, and takes a knocking for his plain old garden variety inability to back up claims.
There is not much in his posts but mispelt 'case studies,' cult slogans, and splodges of S'logy PR. There have been repeated attempts to get detail of his practice. He evades all pointed questions. He offers a fraud, but is too stupid to know that what he is peddling is quackery. Most Scientologists are trained to be zombies in matter of doctrine. Kevin shows what gibbering heights can be climbed by the intellectual living dead.
Ask him how much followup he does on the subjects of his claims. Nothing back. Zzzzzzz. Zombie answer.
Ask what is the actual content of the procedures and he refers you to cult web price lists. Cult Zombie vitamin ads. Zombie books, zombie products.
Ask him to respond to straightforward quesions and you get googly-eyed bumfodder. Giggly wall-eyed zombie retorts. More zombie cut and paste.
What up, Kev? You have stumbled with your magic cow into the wrong sideshow. You are supposed to be over there thattaway in Zombie Religion Rodeo.
Lance Davey: The L Ron Hubbard account is not unprecedented at SOLO. We have had, for the sake of 'humour', other fictional accounts created of 'luminaries' such as Karl Marx.
Is 'ElRon' a management stand-in? If so, kinda feeble effort.
WSS
Because "death threats" from
Because "death threats" from dead men are serious business!
You jokers
I think Toohey would be proud of your elastic sense of humor.

Get lives, you lot!
Lance just drew my attention to this thread about the "death threat" on another thread which I haven't followed at all, and is quite right: nothing to see. One or two folk must be having their periods.
Actually, there *is* something there that I just noticed: an hysterically funny Scherk post that gave me unalloyed joy. Not often I can say that.
Kevin is a polite and, as
Kevin is a polite and, as far as I have kept up with his postings, a good faith poster that cheerfully puts up with the inevitable knocking he'd get at SOLO.
The L Ron Hubbard account is not unprecedented at SOLO. We have had, for the sake of 'humour', other fictional accounts created of 'luminaries' such as Karl Marx.
The context of the 'death threat' is someone posing as an obvious caricature/parody of a deceased historical person, in this case Scientology's founder L Ron Hubbard, issuing a 'lethal' 'directive'. Yawn.
Death Threat? Blatantly fictional, barely amusing, and not an actual "threat" of "death".
If Kevin Owen has a problem with it then I'd look at the matter further. Otherwise, nothing to see here, move along.
Mind y
Silly question. The psychosomatic thread? Context.

Are you sure, Kas?
Beer for breakfast?
Is that a Kansas thing?
Hold on.
Take Kevin seriously or not seriously
Respect him or don't.
Like him or hate him.
Death threats aren't acceptable. There are multiple threads on this site, no-one has to read or put time into his threads. Don't like it then, 'change the channel'.
I'm going to...
murder a beer in a couple of hours. Does that count?
Word of advice
Don't take anything on an Owen thread seriously.
Just for the record: the
Just for the record: the persona of L. Ron is nothing to do with yours truly. But I would not make this the basis for being here or not, Mindy, it was said, from what I can glean, in a context of humour on that thread.
Ahhhh...just read it
Ahhhh...just read it now...(I must admit to not having read either of Kevin Owen's threads for some weeks)
Yes, the threat is clear and unacceptable.
(I must confess to not having realised who/what L. Ron Hubbard is/was until yesterday...founders of science fiction witchcraft organisations being a topic I prefer to ignore...so I think I am the only person not to get the 'jokesy' nature of his profile)
I agree with Kasper, unless he apologises his future posts require moderating to ensure there are no additional threats.

It is on
It's on the psychosomatic thread. Sorry I didn't say.
--Mindy
I am sure what you say is
I am sure what you say is correct, Mindy....but can you post substantiation of the claim?
