Yesterday's tabling of the Sale and Supply of Liquor and Liquor Enforcement Bill is yet another compelling reason for voters to take out this abominable Nanny State government, says SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.

"The proposed law makes good on the Prime Minister's threat some weeks ago to punish liquor outlets for the fatal shooting by likely Labour voters of Manurewa liquor store owner Navtej Singh," Perigo notes.

"Helen Clark's response to her spiritual offspring's killing rampage was, in effect, to blame their victim. It was Mr. Singh's fault for being a liquor store owner, she implied; there were too many liquor store owners, she decreed, meaning too many tempting targets for her murderous constituency. She would legislate — not against Labour's homicidal cheerleaders, but against liquor outlets.

"So now, the days of the corner dairy selling wine and beer are numbered. Grocery stores that have an off-licence will have to be no smaller than 150 square metres. Many owners of smaller stores will undoubtedly go out of business.

"It's Helen Clark and her fellow-wowser alco-nazis who should be put out of business. She and anti-Commerce Minister Lianne Dalziel are accessories to murder committed by the dregs their pay-scum-to-breed-in-exchange-for-votes policies have spawned. Their answer is death by regulation for the productive.

"Death by ballot is the least they deserve in return," Perigo concludes.
