It's Settled Then?Submitted by PhilipD on Tue, 2008-09-02 05:58.
'The Waitangi Tribunal received about 1000 new historic claims yesterday as applicants rushed to beat a midnight deadline. Tribunal director Darrin Sykes today said the last minute flood of claims pushed the total figure received since August 1 to about 2000.' "It's been pretty huge," he said. "They came through in truckloads and we still had faxes and emails coming through right up to 11.59." Jeez, Bro's why leave it so late to get on the gravy-train- the deadline was announced in 2005. "It is of the utmost importance that we recognise the past injustices that Maori suffered at the hands of the Crown - but it is also important that as a people we move forward and get on with investing in the future of our communities," Anyone else with a sense of Deja vu? Still at least Maori Land Court Judge Joe Williams is pleased. He and his cuzzies will be kept busy trawling through these claims until the supposed final settlement date in 2020. Final settlement? Pig's arse. Im betting that a final, final deadline for new claims is announced within the next few years.

Guilty Spooks
'... and guilt-ridden honkies are giving them ample reason to assume they'll get away with it.'
Who are these guilt-ridden spooks? Seriously. Isn't it just a case of 'elite' lefties berating us all and people either haven't analysed their arguments or they have, yet don't have the guts to speak up?
I have been away from N.Z for seven of the last eight years so I don't know- is Joe Public feeling real guilt? Or is it moral cowardice? Same result either way, though.
"The ultimate result of shielding men from folly is to fill the world with fools."
-Herbert Spencer
I am disgusted at how these
I am disgusted at how these cheeky Maoris lodged so many claims at the last minute to steal money from rich, white people.
And poor white people too, and poor brown ones, and middle class folk of Asian descent, and and and.... (the list goes on)
Incidentally, this will make one splutter:
ETS pushes Ngai Tahu to revisit Treaty claim
Ngai Tahu is seeking compensation for what it says will be a loss in value of forests it received as part of its historic Treaty claim.
The South Island iwi settled its claim over a decade ago, but has lodged a fresh claim to cover the loss of value of some of its assets due to the Government's emissions trading scheme (ETS)
Yes, a complete load of old
Yes, a complete load of old cobblers...
A lot of medieval witchcraft, chanting, tears and imaginary injustices will continue ad infinitum...that traitor, Sir Douglas Graham has a lot to answer for...and I am disgusted at how these cheeky Maoris lodged so many claims at the last minute to steal money from rich, white people.
The sooner we abolish this nonsense...(and ask for our money back)...the better!
No doubt sometime in the spring of 2010 the floodgates will be opened and more claims by the Maoris will be allowed once again.
On election day...tick the LIBERTARIANZ box...
The Bros are trying it on ...
... and guilt-ridden honkies are giving them ample reason to assume they'll get away with it.
