Glenn Jameson, are you a Nat? :)Submitted by Mitch on Fri, 2008-09-05 05:30.
From an article in today's Herald that looks at the National Party's advertising: "The Business Herald understands that a key creative talent for the Nats is Glenn Jameson, a creative director at the freelance advertising bureau The Pond, and who has an impressive CV working in New Zealand, the UK and the US.
Jameson says on the Pond website that he has had stints at Draft FCB, DDB and most recently as creative director at Republik.
He says in his profile that his talent is to "find truth in bullshit".
Jameson loves philosophy and appears to be attracted to the Right.
He is is an admirer of the individualist writer Ayn Rand.
His loves include his children "and me". He advises prospective clients to read Rand's The Virtue of Selfishness "and you'll love Me too"."
Any truth to the rumours Glenn? Peter Cresswell is gonna be SOOOO mad! http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/3/story.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10530636

one wonders
where was the help? Surely they wouldn't receive days off?

Yes, well...gosh..is
Yes, well...gosh..is nothing sacred? ...Who has been telling stories?
(oh, and Luke
the 'spade' in question was a gardening tool, not one of my employees ha ha!)
I must say, regarding Glenn working for the Tories, it is increasingly widely believed he is doing God's work ...secretly intending to sabotage their campaign
to which I say "keep it up!"
On election day...tick the LIBERTARIANZ box...
Far worse ...
... than Mr Jameson's apostasy is the following, of which rumour has just reached me. It is said that a certain upper class chap turned up at a working bee of Libz chaps to create a garden at Anna Woolf's new house, carrying a spade but besuited to the nines, thus making it clear that his role in the proceedings would be, as befits a gentleman, to watch. It is further claimed that this eminent personage, believed to be Lord Lineberry of Balmoral, looked around for a suitable working class chap to hand the spade to. It is reported that the concept of "working bee" was then explained to His Lordship rather emphatically—and the cad capitulated! Before a chap could say "Gosh" the traitorous bounder Lineberry was digging dirt. Damn rum show. A chap just can't find decent snobs these days.
Cornered
Unfortunately self-muzzled Glenn.
If the leftie press trawled SOLO, they could dish some "discredit" to the Nat campaign.
Rodney for Epsom and game over I hope. Libz for my "wasted" vote.
Congratulations Glenn
A fabulous write up and indeed superb recognition of your work.
"...a Nat?" I'd use other
"...a Nat?"
I'd use other words.
"But, regardless, GOOD ON YOU GLENN. You have every right to live off your mind, and already, through this single article, you've got Ayn Rand into the mainstream media."
Didn't Ayn Rand write a novel demonstrating the immorality of putting one's mind in the service of scum?
I seem to recall something about that.
Oh you chaps beat me to
Oh you chaps beat me to it...was going to ask the same question.
I must admit to being very surprised about this...the National party are...ummmm...Tories
They are grubby middle class people who govern by opinion poll and whatever way the wind is blowing and have done for 300 years.
They adopted socialism for the 1949 election, taxed rich and productive people at 66% for 3 decades, sought to run everyone's life, engaged in censorship, took crony capitalism to extreme levels by rewarding the few whilst preventing a free market to benefit the many, engaged in widespread hypocrisy on 1001 occasions, thought subsidies and protectionism were the norm, encouraged ghastly people to do ghastly things (such as allowing working class people into Universities), and I could go on and on about what disgusting despicable people the Tories are...
Contrast that with the Whigs....who initiated all the important things - abolition of slavery, free trade, free markets, low taxation, reform of institutions, balanced budgets, sticking to PRINCIPLES and encouraging rich chaps to become even richer.
I realise that everyone needs to earn a quid, and not everyone has a (ahem) 'private' income...but...gosh..the TORIES
On election day...tick the LIBERTARIANZ box...
What a scream.For the
For the record, I am voting Libz - it's the only party that represents what I believe.
But, regardless, GOOD ON YOU GLENN. You have every right to live off your mind, and already, through this single article, you've got Ayn Rand into the mainstream media. Superb. Do what you're good at, stand tall.
And kick Key up the butt for us, and keep kicking until you've booted the damned socialist out of him.
The interesting thing will be if the Nat's link to you, and, snort, Rand, will do them more damage than the Exclusives did for Brash.
Glenn
Curious as to why, Glen, you didn't contact the herald back?
Ah ha
Ah ha, so that's why he wanted to support Nats over Libz!
