Mark Steyn's latestSubmitted by Lance on Fri, 2008-12-12 00:50
Mark Steyn produces yet another great column, taking a swipe at media coverage of an "accidental hostage scene" in Mumbai, perpetrated by alternately undefined "militants", "teenage gunmen", or just plain "gunmen". The Times was being silly in suggesting this was just an "accidental" hostage opportunity – and not just because, when Muslim terrorists capture Jews, it's not a hostage situation, it's a mass murder-in-waiting. He's spot on correct, looking at the coverage I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

God IS a Jeffersonian
make no mistake, Ross!
And thank you for introducing me to Steyn and his column, Lance!
Yup
He's got it in one.
The media is sanitising Islamic terrorism through language and euphemism.
You know, you can effect a lot of subtle change via quite minor variations to the language. English is complex and exceedingly descriptive. Substitute one of our nuanced adjectives for another and we experience a completely different psycho-emotional response. The giggletwits of the left have learned this by osmosis, and they employ it.
Steyn strikes me as a cross between James Bond and Margaret Thatcher. Shaken, not stirred with a coiffure and a handbag with a brick in it. He does God's work; that is, if God is a Jeffersonian
