According to UK Newspapers Geert Wilders plans to defy the ban on him coming to the UK to screen his film 'Fitna' in the House of Lords, saying 'Let them put me in handcuffs'.

is magnificent. If all men were this way the world would be a wonderful, wonderful place! Perhaps his precedent will be contagious. This conviction gave him a big bounce in the Dutch polls.

Wilders on Beck

Wilders has just been on the Glenn Beck show - live in the studio, meaning, as he wrily pointed out, that America hasn't yet banned free speech the way Europe has. It was great to see him, but effing depressing.

Labour bares its appeaser’s teeth to unbending Muslims

Marcus's picture

"Wilders’s visit was a disastrously missed opportunity. Keeping him out will anger many of the silent majority. Had he been allowed in, his silliness would have been exposed. More importantly, thoughtful and sophisticated British Muslims offered to debate his film. They could have discussed publicly what Muslims believe and whether they take literally the bloodthirstier parts of the Koran – although how they square these theological circles is beyond me, as is the mystery of how Christians dispense with the nastiest bits of Exodus and Leviticus. But this was a perfect moment for British Muslims to educate the public about themselves.

And it was an opportunity for the government to prove that it is not prepared to appease any threatening minority, but will stand up for freedom and tolerance. But it was an opportunity this government was incapable of taking. It doesn’t even understand the importance of it."

This has gathered such momentum that the normally silent ambivalent MSM appear to be covering this because of pressure from the blogosphere?

"The Lords screening went ahead as planned, despite Mr Wilder's non-attendance.

BBC political correspondent Iain Watson said about 30 people had been at the screening and had given a round of applause, while calling for a debate on the issues raised."

Banned Dutch MP to be sent home

After being questioned at Heathrow, the MP said he had been to the House of Lords two weeks ago and there had been "no problem".

He added: "I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm not protesting or running through the streets of London."

Mr Wilders added: "Democracy means differences and debate. It's a very sad day when the UK bans an elected parliamentarian... Of course I will come back."

E-mail Address of Immigration/Border Control

Fox News posted the actual letter they sent to Wilders, telling him he was banned from entering the UK.  On the letter was the URL for the web site of the Immigration department.  I rooted around a bit, and found the following e-mail address for complaints regarding how one was treated by immigration/border control.  Enjoy!
