National Guard practicing to confiscate guns?Submitted by Duncan Bayne on Thu, 2009-02-26 03:03
From this article:
First New Orleans, now it looks like Iowa is ready to get in on the act. It's telling that not one of the residents of Arcadia complained about it

Duncan - "Manufactured Crisis"
My thoughts exactly.
Indeed, I agree with you in the same cynicism because alarm bells are ringing in my ears.
As for open borders, no way Jose.
In a true republic, perhaps. But in a democracy this is potential suicide and in a socialist country?.....I'll leave my argument to what is left of Britian.
"Who is John Galt?"

From what I can tell, the reason that the USA has such a problem with the Mexican border is their continued prohibition on drugs, and heavy restrictions on immigration.
If they were to legalise drugs, and liberalise immigration (in line with the Libz proposals for NZ) I don't think they'd need a National guard contingent there. Mind you, as they say, they don't appear to be doing much at the moment.
If I was being cynical (who, me?) I'd say that the deployment is in preparation for a new AWB and mass confiscation of guns from American citizens, using the (manufactured) crisis on the Mexican border as an excuse.

It is very obvious that there are enormous problems with the US government failing to protect its citizens.
My point is that the government fighting a war on drugs is as unreasonable and immoral as the same government fighting a war on terror.
Whilst America fights the war on terror in Iraq, taxpayer funds are used to rebuild Iraq. Whilst America fights the war on drugs, taxpayers are rebuilding Mexico.
The government of Mexico is 100% responsible for violence and crime within its borders and the government of the United States is 100% responsible for violence and crime within America.
The fact that neither government's are doing their moral obligation to protect their citizens seems to be compounded with their unauthorised treaties to unite both countries at the expense of the well being and the lives of law abiding citizens.
Furthermore, I believe that this so called war on drugs will be the catalyst used by Obama to disarm Americans, creating a police state, namely the North American Union.
(The Canadians have already been disarmed).

Some information for Sandi
Sandi, if you're in New Zealand, you probably are not aware of the gun violence that's going on in Mexico recently. I live in Tucson, 60 miles from the Mexican border. Reports of drug cartels in gun battles in Mexico are common on the local TV news and in the newspapers. Here are some links for you.

This last link notes that Mexico has had "7,882 drug cartel related deaths since December 2006."
Paving the way for gun control

Obama's not protecting the border he is opening it up
The taxpayer funded North American Union is going ahead as planned.
Duncan what do you think of this?
News reports over the last couple of days that 7,000 soldiers and federal police are to be deployed into Mexico (Ciudad Juarez) which is across the US border from El Paso Texas. It is reported that these reinforcements “would be visible to residents”
The reason given for this deployment is drug associated gang wars and the US Attorney General Eric Holder has proposed re-instituting a ban on the sale of assault weapons to reduce the bloodshed in Mexico”
What bloodshed? Where has this been reported before?
"We must assess border security programmes and plans in place and we must review the readiness of federal, state and local law enforcement," said Senator Joseph Lieberman, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
The panel would examine how the two governments were addressing the situation and determine the potential for increased terrorist activity.
The committee said it may also look into whether there is merit to deploying National Guard to the border, fencing issues and potential mass migration from Mexico.
Now take a look at this report from the BBC 6th June 2006
“The US has deployed a first contingent of National Guard troops along its border with Mexico.
This is part of an operation aimed at curbing illegal immigration.
Some 55 soldiers from the Utah National Guard took up positions along border points with Mexico. They will be joined by 6,000 more in the coming months.”
If they had 6,000 troops in place 3 years ago, what did they actually do?
The dirty rotten conniving bastards!
Well done to the gun-rights advocates. They who remain vigilant to uphold and defend what they value.
