Linz on Triangle TVSubmitted by Lindsay Perigo on Thu, 2009-03-26 23:47
Received the following today, to which, naturally, I've replied yes. Transmission details are in the note: Hello again Lindsay, I hope that you didn't mind being bailed up in a pub, but The purpose of this email is to formalise and detail my verbal The programme is called In Conversation With Noel Cheer. It is an We pre-record on one day each month at the television facilities of Is it possible that you could be available for recording at 11:30am This programme has been broadcast at weekly intervals since early The programme is broadcast as follows: These are some of the things that I would like to raise in 1. Your career development from distinction in TVNZ, to rejection 2. Who was Ayn Rand and why should we take notice of her? 3. In the face of strong, almost universal, adulation you are 4. In what direction should NZ go and how can it be persuaded to go that way? I hope that you are able to accept.

Cool Stuff
Glad I finally had the free time to watch the interview, Linz. I really do wish you had a program on American TV.
Noel Cheer seemed very deserving of his namesake, and I thought him to be a stellar interviewer. Challenging, but not harassing--strong but not stubborn. And barely an idle word--when he seemed to be agreeing with you, he wasn't; it was all explanation for the sake of the viewer. Pleasure to watch.
Linz, have you started writing for Pravda...
...on the side?
Otherwise they must have stolen that 'sheeple' phrase from you
Are you back from Nelson, Annie Fox?
Inquiring minds would like to know.
Triangle Interview
Excellent. Well done Linz, well done Noel Cheer.
Is there a market? Yes there is!
That's the thing, Noel's programme is the best one out there not because he is an exceptional talent, but because everyone else is so *poor* If you relied on television to find out what was going on in the world you would be blind. When the Sunday / 60 minute type programmes have medical curiosities as their stories of the week, well. I do miss Foreign Correspondent, and the nature documentaries on Thursday nights...Douglas as Finance minister....
In Conversation
If I were a TV man...
I'd hire Linz in a hot second. One hour show per week, whatever topic and format he wanted.
He would bury anything on American television, and bring more substance and reason than Glenn Beck, who I think does a great job.
Linz is a talent, and this guy should be on television, radio, or whatever format works.
If anyone in NZ is having
If anyone in NZ is having trouble loading the first two parts like I was - going to nz.youtube.com and searching "noel cheer perigo" and loading from the search results works a treat.
Great job Greg
Finally Lindsay is up for the objectivist world to watch to see what he is like.
Last two parts
Thanks, gregster!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
It's working thru the ethernet now Scott
Unfortunately my first file conversion from DVD using iSkysoft has a watermark across it, but it doesn't detract too much from the content. I'll do another with a different app asap.

Market
I think you're right, there's a market for this kind of thing.
Surely there is! And as I said to Noel, older farts who can follow a half-hour interview have spending power. One of the commercial entities will surely realise at some point that fixating on airheads is unfortunate and sub-optimal.
Availability for American?
Any chance this is available on the web or YouTube or something?
Thanks!
Scott
Enjoyed it muchly
Good stuff. Old Noel seems an honourable vessel.
A rare half hour
Was a rare half hour for NZ telly, conducted as if ideas - love 'em or loathe 'em - matter. You answered with an ease & 'ordinary man' style Linz. So unlike you.
Very enjoyable. Good work too on the part of the interviewer. I think you're right, there's a market for this kind of thing.
Jeez, Lady Slapper ...
... don't get carried away!! This is just like anything else going on on TV after all.
I truly think there's been no half hour like it in the history of NZ television. Apart from the time I conducted half-hour interviews myself of course.
That was good stuff..
though I'd expect nothing less of course.
Like the fact that you didn't have to fight for the floor for a change.
Noel Cheer
I rang Triangle and forwarded my congratulations to Noel for conducting such a nice interview. Not only did he give space but it looked like he was really interested, present and was learning something.
Now it is 30 bucks for a copy of the interview so for those of you that have sky, please, will someone record it.....
Cute, Sandigirl...
...many a year since I last watched NZ television with intelllect.
Teehee.
Linz - KASS
I can not speak for Ayn, however in my opinion you defined Objectivism (challenged from spurious angles) magnificently!
Your definition of Objectivism was absolutley splendid.
It has been many a year since I last watched NZ television with intelllect.
Oh thank you ...
... dear boy. Here am I watching Rugby Reunion!
I remember it flowing really well. Guess I'll watch on Thursday.
Well done
Lindsay you were fantastic. Brain alive television. If only it went on for an hour....
Thursday
I will record it to a camera then thru firewire to edit on a Mac then Youtube it.
My UHF reception is poor here for Triangle.
Looking forward to it...
I'll be tuning in Thursday on Stratos.
Yeah ...
And I have permission for it to go on YouTube. Anyone up there able to record it?
Auckland - Linz on Tuesday
20:30 - Triangle
Heads-up
Just got this from Triangle:
The programme is scheduled to go to air on May 12 at 8:30pm on
Triangle Auckland and at 9:30pm on May 14 on Stratos (Freeview Ch21
and Sky Ch89).
Make your own show!
Having been on Triangle Tv's website I have discovered that you are allowed to make your own show.
It only costs 500 bucks to do if you want to show it in prime time. I can just imagine the possibilities........ Lindsay on tv doing video conference calls with Americans and having discussion panels in NZ over politics. Introducing the principles of limited governments and why NZ should look at the libertarian party seriously...... The list goes on.

I am very
very keen to see this interview. Please give lots of heads up for when it will be happening.
Jeremy
The recording was today. It went exceptionally well, with the interviewer challenging but not boorish. It all seemed to flow beautifully, though I didn't get anti-disestablishmentarianism in. Come to think of it, I didn't even get to say "pomowanker"!
I'll let everyone know when and where it's to be broadcast. Triangle and Stratos on Sky, I think. Not sure about overseas viewers.
Jeremy - where's your photo?
Linz, make sure to update us
Linz, make sure to update us non-NZers on how to catch the program. I'm sure you'll blow everyone away once again. These folks just can't get enough of ya, can they?
I'll mail you 45 Krugerrand posthaste if you somehow work antidisestablishmentarianism into the conversation.
