SOLO-International Press Release: The Anti-American President
April 23, 2009

Fewer than 100 days into his presidency, Barack Chavez-Obama is shaping up as treasonous, says SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.

"This is a President who has just re-opened the door for the prosecution of those who in good faith advised that the 'waterboarding' of terrorist trash post-9/11 would be legal. That technique subsequently extracted information that saved Los Angeles from a similar attack.

"This is a President who releases classified information about that technique and withholds information about its success.

"This is a President who has outlawed that technique (which, though distressing—oh, poor terrorist trash!—is neither injurious nor life-threatening).

"This is a President who has officially changed the name of the War on Terror to 'Overseas Contingency Operation' so as not to offend terrorist trash.

"This is a President who is willing to sit down unconditionally with the President of the world's #1 sponsor of terrorist trash, Iran, even as that country proceeds with impunity to acquire nuclear weaponry.

"This is a President who preaches nuclear disarmament at the United Nations knowing North Korea is about to fire a long-range missile over Japan.

"This is a President who bows to the King of Saudi Arabia and beams at Hugo Chavez.

"This is a President whose economic policies are significantly similar to Chavez's.

"This is a President on whose watch the Department of Homeland Security fantasizes about 'threats' from war veterans who 'might' become 'right-wing extremists.'

"This is a President who believes anyone who adheres to America's founding ideals is a 'right-wing extremist.'

"This is a President who trashes his country while overseas, apologizing to European socialists (whose countries America rebuilt) and Latin American communists for America's 'arrogance' and 'dismissiveness.'

"The Department of Homeland Security would be better advised to worry about the threat to America posed by its President. He is making it more vulnerable to external attack while personally unleashing an internal attack on its core values.

"Chavez-Obama's credentials as an anti-American may be unimpeachable, but he'd do well to remember that he is not," Perigo concludes.

Airhead rebuttal

Matty Orchard's picture

“This is a President who has just re-opened the door for the prosecution of those who in good faith advised that the 'waterboarding' of terrorist trash post-9/11 would be legal.”

Good faith? You honestly think these lawyers believed for a moment this would be 'legal' by any reasonable standard?

“That technique subsequently extracted information that saved Los Angeles from a similar attack.”

Not true. False statement, plain and simple.

“This is a President who releases classified information about that technique and withholds information about its success.”

We'll see...maybe

“...though distressing—oh, poor terrorist trash!—is neither injurious nor life-threatening"

The same could often be said for rape.

“This is a President who has officially changed the name of the War on Terror to 'Overseas Contingency Operation' so as not to offend terrorist trash.”

I put this down to politics. Using the phrase 'War on terror' would be politically moronic. Aren't you the least bit happy he's trying to exit Iraq in responsible manner? Remember the time I told you Obama would never implement an 'immediate withdrawal'?

Have you reconsidered your fundamental notions about the man since then?

“This is a President who is willing to sit down unconditionally with the President of the world's #1 sponsor of terrorist trash, Iran, even as that country proceeds with impunity to acquire nuclear weaponry.”

Obama doesn't want Iran to have nukes any more than you do.

“This is a President who preaches nuclear disarmament at the United Nations”

He said he wants to build towards a world without nukes. Chasm of difference.

“This is a President who bows to the King of Saudi Arabia...”

Where have you been the past 8 years!??

“...and beams at Hugo Chavez.”

Chavez was being a grand-stander as usual. Did you see that clip of him handing Obama the book?

“This is a President whose economic policies are significantly similar to Chavez's.”
I'm sure Chavez would be as interested to know how you reached this conclusion as I am.

“This is a President who trashes his country while overseas, apologizing to European socialists (whose countries America rebuilt)”

The 'We saved your asses in World War 2' line of argument?

Come on Linz, Give him SOME credit. He's trying to leave Iraq while avoiding disaster. He's trying to get the Afghanistan situation under control, all in vein I fear, but he's giving it a shot!

Yes he's spending billions upon billions of dollars of tax payer money but you never seemed too fussed about that kind of thing pre late 2008. Your worst fears taken in to account, doesn't Obama deserve a little more than a luke-warm commendation for killing a handful of pirates?

Ugh

Mindy:

That you would go the CBA website, evidently in advance of or in furtherance of investigating reporting me professionally for an internet post like that, says alot about you, and right back down you go. And YOU were crying about censorship on that other thread? Don't worry, when my professional licensee is obliquely threatened by a person like you over a comment like that, I get the message. You fooled me with some sensical posts. Congratulations. We will have to leave pointing out your deficiencies to those whose professional licenses you cannot threaten.

Low, low down maneuver.

Brant:

It was neither intimidation nor a lawyer thing.

Ross:

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Ross. But note that I said that I was an ~internet~ asshole, that it is something I should work on. You didn't qualify, and now my feelings are hurt.

Oh, c'mon...

Ross Elliot's picture

...that was most assuredly a real death threat.

He wants to roast your ass like a juicy suckling pig.

Scott is indeed—and by his own admission—an asshole, but frankly, I'd be buying a gun, Mindy.

Qua lawyers, Mindy,

Brant Gaede's picture

qua lawyers. I think. He wasn't qua lawyering you.

Maybe it's some kind of sex thing. You a gal, me a guy. I don't think he'd talk to me that way. Guy to guy the testosterone might kick in. The only stupid lawyers are lawyers stupid for being lawyers. Not him. I'd prefer a competent electrician or plumber, however.

--Brant

Actually, it is forbidden to lawyers...

Ptgymatic's picture

to act in that way. I know, I checked with the Chicago Bar Assn.

Mindy

It wasn't a real death threat, Mindy,

Brant Gaede's picture

but it was intimidating. It's a lawyer thing.

--Brant

Dick Morris...

Ross Elliot's picture

...was just interviewed by Hannity on Fox.

Hannity asks him if there's anything Obama actually likes about America.

Morris replies: "Yeah, that it elected him."

"The Department of Homeland

Bosch Fawstin's picture

"The Department of Homeland Security would be better advised to worry about the threat to America posed by its President."

Can't say it any better.

"Death Threat"

atlascott's picture

Here's what I wrote, in a post named explicitily "Death Threat"

"I would like to find a rather large rock and introduce it to your skull. Maybe it would orient you to reality or something."

I have a short fuse and I am SUCH an asshole on the internet. I am not kidding.

In real life, I am such a considerate, warm, jolly person. This is an admitted bad habit. I have to work on it.

On the other hand, I am a really good kisser, so it all balances out.

Something else I have to work on: what I think is funny or ha-ha-jokey can and more often than not is taken seriously.

I sincerely apologize if you took my post as a serious threat, Mindy.

Still, you are a jackass for arguing for the position you took on that thread.

Damn! I did it again, didn't I?

Some folks just cannot help themselves....:Evil

If you ruled the world

atlascott's picture

and had your way (not that you would want to), there would be a total of about 14 things that we would disagree on.

There would be fire, there would be volcanic eruptions, there would be raised voices. Profanity. Bad jokes.

Maybe even hurt feelings and angry, unkind words.

These would be trifles, and alot of fun, in end analysis.

Even when we disagree, I assign the value of those as trifles, because that is exactly what they would be.

You are just too goddamned headstrong to admit that I am right all the time.

The same might be levelled at me.

But you should NEVER doubt how I esteem, you, sir, and what you mean to me, even half a world away.

When I imagine an Objectivist world, I imagine a pub, with live music, good drink, and your company, and Olivia, Robert, Jeff, many others.

Good times, friends worth having, times worth remembering.

No , I don't

atlascott's picture

But I will check it out.

I thought ...

Lindsay Perigo's picture

... there might be an outcry at my comments on waterboarding, especially from Big Scott, but he seems, thankfully, to have reversed himself. Eye

Today we learn that the Dems were briefed about waterboarding and have known about/approved of it all along.

I want one of the stupid appeasers on the "torture" thread to step up and say he'd prefer Los Angeles to have been hit than that a maggot like Khalid be waterboarded, and how such a position and its consequences somehow place us on the moral high ground. It is the lowest possible ground, occupied by "useful idiots" whose naive moronry would be risible if its consequences weren't so calamitous.

Scott

Ptgymatic's picture

You said you would like to bash my head in, in a post titled "Death Threat." Recall now?

I am not indifferent to compliments or approval, but I am determined to speak my mind.

Mindy

My quirk

atlascott's picture

I apologize for perhaps mistaking what may been tongue in cheek but I take threats of violence very seriously so I hope that I have never castigated you in a way suggestive that I was threatening your personal safety or life. I am becoming a fan.

No problem, Scott

Ptgymatic's picture

...if only I had expressed myself better, before, you wouldn't have had to threaten my life.

Mindy

Obamaism

Jeff Perren's picture

"I'm fearfully wondering if this administration has any American idealism at all."

Obama and those he has appointed are, almost without exception, Progressives. They are idealists, of a sort (with a large mixture of Pragmatism for the sake of acquiring and keeping power). Study the history of Progressivism in America and you know everything you need to know about the current Federal Govt, Obama and crew most particularly. Progressives are serious about transforming America and they have been working toward that longer than Obama has been alive.

I would like to apologize

atlascott's picture

for any mean thing I ever wrote about you, Mindy.

Here, to me, you have proven that you "get it."

Depressingly good summary

Ptgymatic's picture

of our President. My "understanding" of the man himself keeps getting darker and darker. (No gutter humor, please.) I'm thinking of the man who sat in church and listened to "God damn America," whose wife first felt pride in her country when her husband was nominated, what must be in his heart of hearts?

Going green is logically a very low priority in an economic crisis; nobody mistakes that.
Forcing money on institutions in order to control them doesn't express concern with their financial health, it expresses a priority of social engineering.

He and Clinton paint Mexico as a victim of an addicted, gun-running "America." He bows and scrapes all over the world, assuring all beyond our borders that America thinks too well of herself, and isn't who she thinks she is. With whom does this resonate, at home? People who have been listening to their preachers say, "God damn America?"

The man is not a patriot, it is as simple as that. He does not approve of this country. He does not respect the priorities of life, liberty, and the pursuit of freedom. How astonishing it is!

I wonder if his "vision" is one shared by the racist rioters who pulled innocent people from their vehicles and exultantly smashed and beat them, just to appease their delusional anger, to expiate mis-guided beliefs of oppression...I'm fearfully wondering if this administration has any American idealism at all. Bring down the mighty, the wealthy, the independent. Today he's leashing up credit-card issuers. The more financial crisis there is, the more excuse he has to take over. That makes tax-and-bail-out-failures a strategic, not a tactical, goal.

What can possibly serve as a wake-up call to Americans? And how can it get past the liberal media? I'm ready to do all the grass-roots stuff available; I think it is time to "shrug" the whole facade of improper government. I think the most basic issues must be voiced, spoken clearly, that is, without the weight of economic theory, etc. Illicit government as violating individual rights. This government as stripping us of our freedoms. Freedom first. Freedom, whatever the economic outlook!

I think pushing the novel, AS, is the safest way to get the right things said. It is thorough, it leads to Rand's non-fiction, it automatically avoids false associations with mixed-premise conservative efforts, etc. No?

Press release is wonderful!

Marcus's picture

You just missed out Obama's re-classification of CO2 as a pollutant, even though life on earth could not survive without it.

I am in Austria at the moment and the papers here are reporting that Obam may allow Bush and Cheney to be extradited to court in Spain for war-crimes?

Is that right?

If it is, then Obama is truly an evil piece of work!

Great, accurate press release!

atlascott's picture

This is an almost complete summary of the first, ruinous, 100 days.

Yuck, and bravo!

Impeachment Unlikely, Unfortunately

Jeff Perren's picture

"wouldn't be surprised if he was impeached."

Unfortunately, with an over 60% approval rating (not to mention a Congress of weak Republicans and Progressive Democrats), that's about as likely as him sincerely speaking out in favor of laissez faire and eliminating the EPA.

Bravo to Linz anyway for putting the suggestion out there, and providing a dozen instances of why it would be the right thing to do, especially this:

""The Department of Homeland Security would be better advised to worry about the threat to America posed by its President the current squatter in the Oval Office.

While we're on the subject let's add a few more items, though:

1. The appointment of Janet Napolitano to the head of DHS
2. The appointment of Eric Holder to AG
3. The selection of Rahm Emanual as Chief of Staff

All are sure signs of the GQ model's unimpeachable credentials as an Anti. He insists on violating American citizens civil liberties, initiating internal threats from our own government, while leaving them unprotected against threats from others.

And, one for the near future, when Ginsburg keels over permanently: The appointment of her replacement with someone even worse. (Hard to imagine, I know, but wait for it.)

He's certainly a piece of work...

Olivia's picture

wouldn't be surprised if he was impeached. It's like watching pre-adolescents play kumbaya in the uber-playground of the White House and beyond.

Hilary Clinton's "let's put ideology aside; that is so yesterday" to Dominican Prez Fernandez.. here she is talking about caring and investing in their children (shudder) ... she may as well have said "let them eat cake."

Nicely summated litany of Obaminations...
