The American Songbook - Nat Cole/Peggy Lee, Makin' WhoopeeSubmitted by Jeff Perren on Sat, 2009-07-11 02:55
From a 1957 episode of the Nat King Cole show, with guest stars Peggy Lee and Julius LaRosa. The trio performs a takeoff of the classic Makin' Whoopee (music by Walter Donaldson, lyrics by Gus Kahn), here titled: Makin' Records. Give a listen, and enjoy two of the greats in a setting that would have been considered ordinary, even mundane at the time. (Remember the line in Atlas Shrugged in which Rand says, paraphrasing: "No, they're something much rarer. They're ordinary men.") Be sure to stick around for the "punch line" at the end.
