Invitation to visit Objectivist LivingSubmitted by Michael Stuart Kelly on Sat, 2005-12-03 20:53.
A message to all our friends and those of good will. Kat gave me (us, actually) a present last night. She thought it would be a good idea for us to have a place to express ourselves for when things got too explosive or uninteresting on other forums. She bought an Internet domain, hooked it up to her own website, and installed a very simple forum software on it. She called it Objectivist Living. People can go there at the following URL: I want to stress that neither of us are in competition with the two sites that branched off from SoloHQ. On the contrary, we are staying on at both and will work towards their success. Also, we will be providing promotion of the good things we appreciate that happen at both. This new site should be seen as sort of our living room in permanent "open house" mode. The scale is small. As such, our focus will be neither on controversy nor activism - but Objectivist Living in general. We want to have a good time with our many friends. We will not be prohibiting discussion of anything. Assholes, of course, will be discouraged. But we would like the "feel" of the place to be a bit more intimate, as if we were all in the same room in an apartment or a house - not a convention center. Pseudonyms will not be prohibited either, but under the living room idea, we would prefer to know who is visiting and making themselves at home rather than talk to a person in the equivalent of a Halloween costume. It promises to be fun. Hope you all stop by. And, please, keep posting on Solo and RoR. We are all needed for reason and freedom. Michael (who wrote this) and Kat (who purred)

I just want to say thanks to everyone who stopped by Objectivist Living. I am so glad to see everyone. This is very exciting!
I am still learning the software and it is pretty cool for freeware. I have posted a tech support section, which I hope will answer some of the questions. I think the log on problem might be related to not having the box checked to remember you. I may also need to adjust some setting, which should not be done without knowing what the hell you are doing, and admittedly, I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I cannot for the life of me figure out out to fix the date that says I joined up in 1970.
I am really happy to see you, Ed, and feel free to invite the rest of the gang, Biddibob, Bill, Gene and David. You guys are wonderful and I'm glad I had a chance to meet you recently. You are always welcome in our home.
Kat
