SOLO-International Op-Ed: The Anti-American President, Pt. 6—Obama the Suicide Bomber

Lindsay Perigo
September 5, 2009

As President Obama prepares to molest the minds of American children next week, it should be dawning on the American public that their President is not only a spiritual child-rapist but also a political suicide bomber.

Hitherto we have assumed that Obama would be stopped in his tracks by the weight of public opposition to his attempt to transform the land of the free, whose status as such is already seriously compromised, into a full-blown fascist state reminiscent of Mussolini. The Tea Party Express, the Town Hall meetings on socialized medicine, the President's plummeting approval ratings, must surely have persuaded Obamalini by now that many of the Americans who were seduced by his charms during the election campaign have since seen through him and don't want a bar of his lurch toward tyranny. In the past few days alone the White House has had to revise its Lesson Plan associated with next week's indoctrination exercise and remove a suggestion that pupils write letters to themselves naming ways in which they might help President Obama. Many parents are proposing to remove their children from the classroom for the duration of the President's address regardless. Many public figures, most recently Jon Voigt, have awoken to the Gramsci/Alinsky origin of Obamalini's agenda, with Mr Voigt urging all voters to read Alinsky's Rules for Radicals in order better to understand the evil place their President is coming from—a thumbnail account of which can be found in the very series to which this op-ed is the latest addition. With all this going on, political self-interest, surely, must have given the President pause ...

But ... the startling possibility is beginning to emerge that Obamalini doesn't care about the firestorm he has sparked. He is taking on the appearance of the very Islamofascist suicide bombers to whom his election brought such joy. He seems to be reconciled to being a one-term President. It's his agenda come hell or high water. If he loses the battles in 2010 and 2012, he seems to think, he will still have won the war. He will have dealt the land of the free mortal blows. The frightening thing is that he may well be right.

It's instructive to recall the way in which Mussolini dealt with the onset of the Great Depression in 1929, as if in mirror anticipation of what Obama's other great pin-up, FDR, was to impose on America, and what Obama himself has done since his election. Here's Wikipedia's summary:

"Trying to handle the crisis, the Fascist government nationalized the holdings of large banks which had accrued significant industrial securities. The government also issued new securities to provide a source of credit for the banks and began enlisting the help of various cartels (consorzi) that had been created by Italian business leaders since 1922. The government offered recognition and support to these organizations in exchange for promises that they would manipulate prices in accordance with government priorities. A number of mixed entities were formed, called instituti or enti nazionali, whose purpose it was to bring together representatives of the government and of the major businesses. These representatives discussed economic policy and manipulated prices and wages so as to satisfy both the wishes of the government and the wishes of business. The government considered this arrangement to be a success, and Italian Fascists soon began to pride themselves on this outcome, saying they had survived the Great Depression without infringing on private property. In 1934, the Fascist Minister of Agriculture said: 'While nearly everywhere else private property was bearing the major burdens and suffering from the hardest blows of the depression, in Italy, thanks to the actions of this Fascist government, private property not only has been saved, but has also been strengthened.'

"This economic model based on a partnership between government and business was soon extended to the political sphere, in what came to be known as corporatism. ... In 1935, Mussolini boasted that three-quarters of Italian businesses relied on the government. Various banking and industrial companies were financially supported by the state. One of Mussolini's first acts was indeed to fund the metallurgical trust Ansaldo to the height of 400 millions Liras. Following the deflation crisis which started in 1926, banks such as the Banco di Roma, the Banco di Napoli or the Banco di Sicilia were also assisted by the state. In 1933, Mussolini created the Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale (IRI) with the special aim of rescuing floundering companies. By 1939 the IRI controlled 20% of the Italian industry through government-linked companies (GLCs), including 75% of pig iron production and 90% of the shipbuilding industry.

"Mussolini also adopted a Keynesian policy of government spending on public works to stimulate the economy. Between 1929 and 1934, public works spending tripled to overtake defense spending as the largest item of government expenditure."

The parallels are as obvious as they are ominous.

Obama is clearly mindful, like Mussolini and that other pre-eminent fascist Adolf Hitler, that outright nationalization is not necessary to effect total state control. Regulation, indoctrination and intimidation were sufficient to achieve de facto nationalization. Contrasting himself with the Marxists, Hitler once derisively asked, "Why bother to nationalize banks and industries? We nationalize human beings." No Gramscian Marxist would have argued with that!

Hitler-like, Obamalini will harangue America's youth this week, less shrilly but equally lethally. He does so against a backdrop of state bailouts, the incurrence of unthinkable levels of federal debt, unprecedented corporate welfarism and an ongoing attempt to effect dramatically greater state control over medicine. He does so against a backdrop of the United We Serve campaign with its insidious subliminal message that the individual exists for the collective. "We are our brothers' and sisters' keepers," Obamalini has said—a status he's prepared to impose on Americans by force. Michelle Obama, who let slip that she was ashamed of the America that preceded her husband's nomination, has said, "Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." "We rise and fall as one nation," Barack has said.

Mussolini said: "The man of Fascism is an individual who is nation and fatherland, which is a moral law, binding together individuals and generations into a tradition and a mission, suppressing the instinct for a life enclosed within the brief round of pleasure in order to restore within duty a higher life ..."

Expect a lot of that kind of talk next week. Expect the mesmerized kids—and many of their still-mesmerized parents—to lap it up. Ask yourself what it has in common with the inalienable individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?!

Then contemplate the probability that Obamalini is dutifully prepared to make the ultimate political sacrifice for his anti-American ideals, knowing that after four years he will indeed have transformed America as promised ... and done irreparable damage to what it once was.

Barack Obama health care speech: Republican calls president a liar

President Barack Obama opened his key address on health care by noting that he wasn't the first American head of state to grapple this most intractable of issues, but that he was determined to be the last.

"The president was dispelling a list of myths and "bogus claims" spread by opponents of his plan, when he denied the assertion that his proposed reforms would not provide health insurance to illegal immigrants.

Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina, pointing angrily at the president, blurted at the top of his voice: "You lie!"

His outburst prompted cries of "Shame!" from the Democratic benches, while the president looked startled and Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, shot a furious look to the left of the dais. First Lady Michelle Obama, watching from the public gallery, shook her head in dismay. Even the Republican colleague to Mr Wilson's left patted his arm to calm him down."
................................................................................................

But of course the MSM media thinks this unprecedented breach of protocol could only be inspired by racism!!!
..................................................................................................

"Mr Wilson showed an ugly side of America. Perhaps the depth of his feeling, and of the protestors who have denounced Mr Obama with such fury so readily, really see him as a socialist menace threatening to undo all that is sacred about the nation, determined to sneak in a government takeover of health care, dissolve gun owners' rights and indoctrinate children.

But the question may well soon begin to be asked: perhaps it is just that they are not comfortable with having the first black American in the White House.

In a post-speech interview with CNN's Larry King, Senator John McCain of Arizona said Mr Wilson's behaviour was disrespectful and called on him to apologise to the president."

BTW

Lindsay Perigo's picture

Let it be noted and remarked upon—Obama's delivery tonight was magnificent. However appalling the content of his speech, he won the moment by appearing to mean it. I cannot seem to get anyone to acknowledge that Objectivism needs orators. Oratory, being passionate, is deemed to be the enemy. I tell you, SOLOists, that attitude is a shocking example of the phony style/content dichotomy. One reason we've made so little progress is that Objectivist presenters by and large have been drop-dead dull, and considered their dreariness a virtue. About the only exception, Peikoff, is derided as "hysterical" by Brandroids and other conventionalists who think Nathaniel's utterly soporific style, being passionless, is somehow exemplary. This dreadful disease crosses the ARI/TAS divide. And it's fatal.

—Me, op-ed at the top of this thread.

Under this plan, it will be against the law for insurance companies to deny you coverage because of a pre-existing condition. As soon as I sign this bill, it will be against the law for insurance companies to drop your coverage when you get sick or water it down when you need it most. They will no longer be able to place some arbitrary cap on the amount of coverage you can receive in a given year or a lifetime. We will place a limit on how much you can be charged for out-of-pocket expenses, because in the United States of America, no one should go broke because they get sick. And insurance companies will be required to cover, with no extra charge, routine checkups and preventive care, like mammograms and colonoscopies – because there's no reason we shouldn't be catching diseases like breast cancer and colon cancer before they get worse. ...

That's why under my plan, individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance – just as most states require you to carry auto insurance. Likewise, businesses will be required to either offer their workers health care, or chip in to help cover the cost of their workers.

Examples

Jeff: "just like when people said that Obama would never be elected"
Just curious. I don't recall reading that anywhere during the year prior to the election. Do you have any examples to share?

I was speaking of SOLO specifically, so here are a few examples (names omitted to spare the guilty. Eye )

"Landslide McCain. Not just wishful thinking either."

'Reading the comments in the Times from democrats in response to Hillary's defeat, I just realised that the majority is not going to vote for a left-wing "higher taxes" candidate during an economic recession.
In fact, if the present economic conditions worsen, it will be almost impossible for McCain to lose - reagardless how many errors, blunders or scandals he makes on the campaign trail."

"McCain by a landslide."

"The reason I say it will be a McCain landslide are some of the numbers at this stage of the game.
Extremist left wing socialist states, such as Connecticut show a statistical tie, Taxachusetts has Obama's lead barely in double figures, Pennsylvania is a tie, McCain leading in Michigan and Ohio, McCain only slightly behind in New Jersey, Washington state has Obama at only 51%
The point being, Obama vs McCain has been hyped to death for weeks yet Obama is 'soft' in strong Democrat areas; and making absolutely no impact in the South; little impact in key states like Wisconsin and Missouri...and you would be very concerned if you were Obama, but crowing if you were McCain....and all this before Obama gets clobbered with his Anti-Americanism and Communist past.
Also, as we know, Obama is a polarising figure whereas McCain is not.
John McCain is a chap many people disagree with but he is difficult to dislike, quite a nice chap, and appeals to 'independent' voters. Also, the group of people least likely to support Obama, and most likely to support McCain are independent voters...another worry for Obama."

"Until and unless the Democrats nominate a Zell Miller, a Bill Nelson or even a Bob Kerrey they will have no credibility on the national security issue. I mean most Americans can just imagine Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi spreading their legs for the Islamofascists..."

There were others, of course, who said the opposite, most notably, Linz:

"I hate to be the party-pooper here, but you McCain landsliders just haven't grasped how dumbed down the voters have become, thanks in large part to the education system and the MTV headbanging caterwauling culture. Yet Another Prediction....

Jmaurone's picture

"Americans will become so disgusted by this presidency and its policies that they may well embrace freedom and start rolling back the state."

Said with such absolute certainty, just like when people said that Obama would never be elected. I hope you're not holding your breath.

Only One Good Thing

Brant Gaede's picture

Americans will become so disgusted by this presidency and its policies that they may well embrace freedom and start rolling back the state. Prior to our unfolding economic disaster we were on a slow train to tyranny and I expected to die of old age before we got there. Now things have speeded up exponentially and it's all coming to a head. This compression of history is mimicking Ayn Rand's multi-generational compression of reality in Atlas Shrugged. Macro artistic reality is mixing it up with our everyday lives in a way we could not have imagined a few years ago, but Ayn Rand lived her whole life not imagining it but knowing it. That may have had a lot to do with her having lived through the so-called Russian Revolution, another time of gross tyrannical historical compression.

Obama 'green jobs' adviser quits amid controversy
By WILL LESTER
(AP)

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's environmental adviser Van Jones, who became embroiled in a controversy over past inflammatory statements, has resigned his White House job after what he calls a "vicious smear campaign against me."

The resignation, announced early Sunday, came as Obama is working to regain his footing in the contentious health care debate.

Jones, an administration official specializing in environmentally friendly "green jobs" with the White House Council on Environmental Quality was linked to efforts suggesting a government role in the 2001 terror attacks and to derogatory comments about Republicans.

Jones issued an apology on Thursday for his past statements. When asked the next day whether Obama still had confidence in him, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said only that Jones "continues to work in the administration."

The matter surfaced after news reports of a derogatory comment Jones made in the past about Republicans, and separately, of Jones's name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. That 2004 petition had asked for congressional hearings and other investigations into whether high-level government officials had allowed the attacks to occur.

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in his resignation statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."

Jones said he has been "inundated with calls from across the political spectrum urging me to stay and fight."

But he said he cannot in good conscience ask his colleagues to spend time and energy defending or explaining his past.

Civilian National Security Force...

Olivia's picture

Is a truly terrible notion from a Marxist President - especially when the plebs have no respect nor loyalty for the existing American Armed Forces. I imagine it would hold appeal also to anarchists of different stripes all over America.

This against the back-drop of massive economic debt, rising unemployment and the constant threat of planned attacks from the Islamofacists - and a demoralized CIA to boot.

Beck interviewed ex communist David Horowitz last night, referring to Saul Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals, the point was that when Marxists are in charge they never ever look down the road to ask what the country will look like when their agenda has been put into place. It is power they crave, power they now have, power they want to hold onto at all costs - ALL COSTS.

I'm not sure that Obama would intentionally martyr himself. I think this is where we get to see how thoughtless these cronies actually are (they start from a malevolent universe premise) - they underestimate their fellow men and have a low view of their fellow men, foolishly believing that the shallow charms of charisma and demagoguery will allow them to hold onto power. Obama will get disoriented as a backlash to his ideas keeps happening - I hope that this will be his Achilles Heel. He was made by the media, he can be broken by the media - so long as it is free and independent. What worries me deeply is that with the likes of bills before senate which purportedly give him power to shut down the internet etc, what will happen when catastrophe strikes? And it will strike.

"Never underestimate the power of the Dark Side..."

Jmaurone's picture

As we all learned from Darth Vader...

From THE 33 STRATEGIES OF WAR:

Information is useless unless you know how to interpret it. Tell appearance from reality. Learn how to recognize a range or psychological types. Be alert, for instance, to the phenomenon of the masked opponent:
When someone manifests a particular personality trait, that trait may be a coverup. Watch for opposite traits.

It’s easier to watch other people in action, especially in crisis. That’s when they reveal their weakness of struggle to disguise it. Pushing buttons will touch a deep part of their nature.

Gauge their powers of resistance. Without that knowledge you will either over or underestimate them…Learn how much fight people have in them. Someone hiding his cowardice and lack of resolve can be made to surrender with a single violent blow. A desperate person will fight to the bitter end.

Keep in mind your enemy’s dynamic, they won’t necessarily stay unchanging. Don’t let your knowledge be static.

A Word of Caution

Jeff Perren's picture

I highly recommend Quin Hillyer's latest article about why it pays not to underestimate Obama. [Used by permission of the author.]

Here's a small taste:

Already we see a cult of personality around Obama, one deliberately encouraged by the Obama political operation. Already we see him push for centralizing, fascistic economic powers. Already we see him creating "a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the regular military, complete with uniformed youths (and even senior citizens) formed into "cadres." And in order to make AmeriCorps less answerable to the public, Obama fired the Inspector General trying to blow the whistle on nefarious AmeriCorps activities. Now he is using AmeriCorps and the National Endowment for the Arts to politically agitate for his "recovery agenda."

I'll Take that Bet

Jeff Perren's picture

"Any bets that we wont see this man leading the 'goose-step' on the
white house parade ground before next Independence Day ?" [Hilton]

Let them try, and watch D.C. experience the largest march in American history, with the White House and Capitol Building empty the day after.

The American people are not what they once were, but we've seen conclusive evidence the past few months that (at least, for now) there's a line beyond which they can't be pushed. Let the Progressives reveal openly their Fascistic nature in that form and there would be riots that would make those in 1930s Hooverville look like taffy pulls.

P.S. Unless you meant that Obama will throw Jones under the bus long before then. That's pretty likely, from what I read.

Coincidence? Or simply "Full Circle?"

Jmaurone's picture

Some may already know this, but did you know that the person who created the Obama "Progress" posters, parodied below, is also the person who created the infamous Andre the Giant "Obey" image?

The designer, Shepard Fairey, "is a contemporary artist, graphic designer, and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding scene.[1] He first became known for his "André the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign, in which he appropriated images from the comedic super market tabloid Weekly World News. His work became more widely known in the 2008 U.S. presidential election, specifically his Barack Obama "HOPE" poster. The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston calls him one of today's best known and most influential street artists.[2] He usually omits his first name. His work is included in the collections at The Smithsonian, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.[3]"

The irony in all this is this:
"In 2004, Fairey joined artists Robbie Conal and Mear One to create a series of "anti-war, anti-Bush" posters for a street art campaign called "Be the Revolution" for the art collective "Post Gen".

Crash and burn?

Marcus's picture

What damage will he inflict in the next 3 years (perhaps only 1 year if the democrats are thrown out) that will no longer be reversible?

Obama and his cohorts desire a nation of plebs. They haven't got one. Not yet.

Yes, but Obama's making a mistake...

Marcus's picture

...you don't change a country appealing to the plebs to pull their fingers out of their asses.

You win it through securing the support of the businessman (or whoever else has money and power) and keeping the plebs in line through fear and intimidation (or bread and circuses).

If you rely on the plebs for your support, as Obama is doing, they may turn on you.

They keep getting better Linz

I can't imagine the Oba-shyster being in demand on the post-presidency cocktail circuit.

"Obamalini" also conjures up the Houdini escape act he'll have to attempt.

Yes, his own

The report is that he will propose a bill of his own.

I stand by my analysis: I don't think he's stupid enough to pull the switch on a backpack of C4.

If he blows it, it'll be because he got lost in the fog of his own pathology.

His own?

Lindsay Perigo's picture

This thousand-page thing is supposed to be his, though he's never been able to explain what's in it. I suspect, like most of Congress, he hasn't read it. Just knows it will make life hell for the private sector.

And the more I think about it, the more I think I'm right. Yes, he'd prefer to be re-elected than not, but would be *very* comfortable with martyrdom. We all know there's a "synergy" (to use a PC Sciabarrism) between him and Islamofascists; this would seal it. Political martyrdom means he lives to savour it, and he's more than vain enough to want to do that.

Excellent

He does want to be re-elected. Nothing surer. But like all solipsists, he's his own worst enemy.

These people--the cultural effluvium of the sixties--are finally ringing the changes for which they've so cunningly and diligently worked all these years. They feel vindicated by the warped democratic groupthink-cum-cult of personality they themselves were foremost in creating, and will allow nothing to stand in their way.

As you say, Lindsay, they've come up against a slice of reality in the protests of Americans who still possess a semblance of the old spirit, and unfavorable polls for their Christ.

Fox reports that Obama will propose his own health plan when he addresses Congress. If that is true, then it can only be that he is so blinkered by his own messianic delusion that he's willing to suppress any thought of failure.

Bring it on.

Thank you, Mr P

Scary though, isn't it? We've all assumed, I think, that he wants above all else to be re-elected, so will pull back from his insanity. But what if he doesn't? What if he embraces martyrdom?

Bravo

Wow. Very. well. done, Mr. Perigo.
