"After eight months as President he won the Nobel Prize, and after 30 minutes David won the man-of-the-match."
The England team had already qualified for South Africa 2010, winning 9 out of 10 matches and scoring a total of 30 goals! They are down as third favourites, behind Brazil and Spain, to win the World Cup. I think they have a good chance of winning with Capello, who couldn't even speak English when he got the job two years ago. If you watch the interviews the players seem frightened of him, as if they might be kicked out of the team at any moment, regardless what the public thinks. Capello declared himself unhappy with their performance last night though they won, even with some of the players who scored the goals - mocking David Beckham winning the 'man of the match' prize for only thirty minutes play. That's the way it should be, English players should be frightened of his critical eye, and play each game as if it were their last. Capello is KASS in every sense!

All Whites qualify for World Cup!!!
Congratualtions New Zealand!!!
Now I have two countries to root for next year, NZ and England
"The All Whites beat Bahrain 1-0 in Wellington on Saturday, qualifying for the FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa in 2010, a feat not achieved since 1982."

I wouldn't mind seeing NZ in the mix, but...
Go Greece!
'Is anyone else excited by
'Is anyone else excited by this prospect?'
It's ridiculous that seeing-off Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the 61st ranked Bahrain would get N.Z- ranked 83rd- into the cup. Hell, France (9th), Portugal (10th), Russia (12th) and Greece (16th) could still miss out.... The half-spot for Oceania makes a mockery of the idea that the best teams will all be there.
Still, I'm bloody excited by the prospect. Good to see real football being mentioned on SOLO. Anyone want to chat about mighty Fulham?
New Zealand....
It looks to me from the scoreboard that the NZ soccer team has a good chance of qualifying for their first world cup since 1982.
Is anyone else excited by this prospect?
