NZB3 Show- The New Zealand Be Free podcast

Last year Julien Pistorius and I put together a pro-capitalism New Zealand podcast. We made 10 fantastic episodes!

One of the most important things I learnt from doing this was how to correctly pronounce Julian's surname. It really makes you think.

Though we're both committed to Objectivism, we didn't make a subject of it in our podcasts. I think though, that if we could get some extra Objectivist manpower, we could make some more podcasts that focused more broadly on philosophy.

Podcasting is a great way to get into people's heads. Over here in Melbourne everybody I see has a pair of white Ipod wires comming out of their ears, especially on the trams and trains. As well as spreading ideas, podcasting is also important for spreading the Kiwi pronunciation to the peoples of the world afflicted with accents.

Julian, we're starting a

Julian, we're starting a production company for ours, so I'm likely to glean a lot of tips in the coming weeks. I'm happy to chat any time.

Something new and better

Oh yeah, I see how this works. One aesthetics debate with the girlfriend, Julian, and suddenly you're an authority on Objectivist aesthetics!

All the same I wont deny that this promo was a bit of a dogs breakfast after all- as the man says. But I'm proud of our podcast, for all the bad production and "esthetics!"

Sack the producer then and find another. I wish Lindsay Perigo would do it- issue assignments, vett the content, cut the dross, take all the credit and he can blame us if it doesn't work. What a deal!

We want it to happen? We gotta make it happen.

Linz is right.

Sorry Rick, Linz is right. NZB3 was grating. The music was terrible, and the style was chaotic and clashing - not representative of Objectivist esthetics at all, I'm afraid.

We could do a lot better if we tried again.

Jason is right. I think SOLO should definitely start the first, overtly Objectivist podcast. We should ask Jennifer for some tips. Her podcast is a feast for the ears. Smiling

Cheers

Shoot me.

I am not in the habit of supporting Linz's crusade against all things non-Lanza, but if THAT was supposed to perk my interest, well...hmmm...wow, I uh....

What a grouch!

This file was an early promo, not the podcast. It's a montage to perk your interest, and I like twanging!

If you want to give the effort a fair go, listen to the actual show here.

Not that anybody's offering, but I bet our Principal couldn't easily identify nor organise a podcast worthy of SOLO anyhow.

Podcasts

Well, keep in mind that I was referring to the actual podcasts that Julian and Rick made (which, if I recall were about 15 minutes long) rather then this particular clip (which I actually didn't listen to until I read your message). Their actual podcasts were technically well done and it would be interesting to see what would happen if we were to use this kind of audio broadcasting format here on SOLO.

SOLOists from different parts of the world, interviews, Objectivism lectures, humor, etc. All sorts of possibilities.

Over my dead body! :-)

We won't be having official SOLO podcasts that sound like this. This is rubbish. Disjointed nonsense. Ghastly twanging. Pomo incoherence. Deliberate ugliness. Just below this is a post about esthetics. Anyone wanting to hear a brief indication of the type of "esthetics" SOLO is dead AGAINST can get an idea from this podcast. (Shudder.)

I have always enjoyed

I have always enjoyed listening to these podcasts. Kiwis have a way of sounding both crazier then you and more intelligent at the same time.

We should get an official SOLO Podcast in this same tradition -- though of course more explicitly Objectivist.
