It pays to look into the sewer sometimes, just to see where the stench originates.

One of the retards who runs Tumeke, Martyn Bradbury, also has a weekly propaganda piece on Stratos TV. Think Glenn Beck is manic? Check out this neanderthal.

FINALLY! POLICY! Don't forget Mr Goff, the exemption of GST on fresh food will only work if you put a big sugar tax on unhealthy food so the gap between eating right and eating wrong is as large as possible.

And...

Labour can drop the nanny state guilt trip when you compare the recent 'nanny state' policy from National, the fact is there is no such thing as 'nanny state' - all Governments pass social policy to try and limit harm by reducing certain personal liberties, the debate should be what is the appropriate level of policy not that the Government is trying to implement policy at all.

Think the pigs in Animal Farm. Or Goebbels.

Or Kant. He also rejected the notion of "nanny state"

"A patriotic government, again, is to be distinguished from a paternal government (regimen paternale) which is the most despotic government of all, the citizens being dealt with by it as mere children." However "The sovereign, as undertaker of the duty of the people, has the right to tax them for purposes essentially connected with their own preservation. Such are, in particular, the relief of the poor, foundling asylums, and ecclesiastical establishments...By the fundamental principle of the state, the government is justified and entitled to compel those who are able, to furnish the means necessary to preserve those who are not themselves capable of providing for the most necessary wants of nature" (The Science of Right, second part, chapter A, C).

Or Barak Obama

"Be a good citizen. Think about the other guy...In America, we must never forget how lucky we are to have so many men and women who believe - who are willing to put aside their own pursuit of happiness, to subordinate their own sense of survival, for something bigger - something greater...That's the promise of America - the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother's keeper; I am my sister's keeper."
Barak Hussein Obama, from different speeches 2005-2008

...I recall suggesting the same thing to Lindsay. Bradbury gets 15 minutes on Stratos. An interesting 30 minutes would be Bradbury's pro-statist rhetoric and another 15 minutes of pro-freedom enlightenment.

I'm pretty sure I'm correct in saying that Stratos/Triangle TV and Scoop are part of the same organisation. That explains the obvious bias on Scoop.

It's significant that left wing bloggers and broadcasters, in a short few years, have managed the wherewithal to start and cause to be a success a satellite news channel and a major--perhaps *the* major--NZ news aggregation service.

if he gets to do that then that says there's a market for that sort of thing. That is why I find it so difficult to comprehend why Lindsay won't get a chance. Except for the fact that the liberals own the news stations and their only opponents are moderate right wingers.

Progressive Freethinkers

Luke Setzer's picture

I encounter so many so-called "Progressives" in the so-called "Freethinker" movement that I sometimes describe myself as "an Atheist who dislikes quite a few of the Atheists I meet." This sounds just like the rhetoric I encountered in the message board of a local freethought group. It explains why I quit my membership with them.
