Watching the news here...there's a Home Depot in Cherry Hill, New Jersey where a goose has decided to take up residence on the roof. Said Goose is swooping down at customers in the parking lot, being a nuisance and potentially a danger. So why is it still there? Home Depot has to file paperwork with the government and have the goose removed humanely. Then, on speculation that the goose is guarding ducklings, we get to see an interview with an real authority on why the goose should be allowed to remain, a little girl who wants the goose to be safe. Foi Gras, anyone?

Just so we're all clear, it's "foie gras."
And I'd like to state for the record that I am happy to have ducks force-fed for my consumption.
The Chicago legislature is trying to repeal the foie gras ban there, so I'm on the edge of my seat. This could be a major precedent -- and a damn good one (for once).

I was recently informed that you do not have to force fed Geese in order to get "Foi Gras". Apparently, that is just one method. If you put tonnes of food in front of a Goose, it will eat it all in one go too.
I have no strong pro- or anti-Goose feelings. The Government bureauc-rats (as always) are simply dumb asses!!!

Geese are one of my favourite birds. They are very much their own selves and they don't take shit from many (although they can deal out gallons of it in just one sitting).
If I had piles of money, I would surround my house and land with them.
They make the best watch dogs ever and they are just so entertaining to observe.

Throw the damn girl in an enclosed space with the goose, and then see how much she wants the damn goose saved. The government is protecting geese? This is the most EGREGIOUS display of anti-value I have ever come across-why doesn't the government invade Poland and just admit they're all Nazis?
