If employment is slavery, then aren't dole bludgers slave masters?

"Wells' installation, The Beneficiary's Office, urges people to abandon jobs they don't like rather than suffering eight hours of "slavery". "

And the obligatory carbon footprint

""We need to work less, so we consume less. The average carbon footprint of the unemployed person is about half of that of those earning over $100,000." "

Has he factored in the carbon footprint of the source of the unemployment benefit I wonder?

"We should never be forced to take a job,'

Groan, forced by whom? Under threat of what? By the people who give you money for nothing? Under threat of cutting off that money? THE MONSTERS!

Nice to see you online,

Nice to see you online, Richard. This might get your philosophy engine turning...

But it's not Wells and his ilk qua beneficiaries who are forcing anyone else to support them. The true slave masters are in Parliament.

I quite agree and even think it might be a good thing for the ship of state to keel over because welfairism is a failure so we can all see it! But if I agree that those taking these benefits are just recognising the game we're in why not say the same thing about politicians?

Are they not a specimin of welfare bludger themselves? Perhaps the greatest species of them all?

Therefore, ought you also exempt them from blame?

Dole bludgers not slave masters

One should never be forced to take a job. In particular, one should never be forced to take a job in order to allow someone else not to.

But it's not Wells and his ilk qua beneficiaries who are forcing anyone else to support them. The true slave masters are in Parliament.

Is there really anything outright wrong with being a beneficiary of state welfare, in view of the fact that the state that giveth is also the state that taketh away? Why not make hay while the sun shines?! It's not as though a large part of state welfare is money taken from unwilling tax payers. Most of those tax payers voted for their own continued enslavement.
